And the winner is….?

Imagine my surprise this morning when I fired up the old computer…opened the first blog at the top of my sidebar(Sew Unique Creations)…and started to read…

The Shelburne Calico Fabric Winner is…ME!!  Could this be??

image

Yup…there it is…in flashing NEON LIGHTS!!  Paulette of Sweet P Quilting…(another slurp of coffee…yup that’s me alright!!)  A happy dance- followed with a cheer…and a scream to my husband… “I just won a bundle of Fat Quarters!!”…a grunt from the bedroom.  Sheesh…so I’m telling you… “I WON!!  I WON!”  There that FEELS so much better…was that a grunt I heard coming from Atlanta, Georgia? Sheesh…!

Isn’t it lovely fabric?  I was just saying to a friend the other day that I really want to start collecting more Civil War and Reproduction prints…and look what fell from the sky!!  OK OK I’ll stop cheering now…but it’s SEW hard…just one more little happy dance…!!!  AND one more YIPPEE!! Thanks so much, Sew Unique Creations…♥love♥ this fabric!!  (By the way, they are having ANOTHER GIVE AWAY RIGHT NOW!!)

On the Quilting Front~

Yesterday I auditioned thread for my tablecloth…

image

and I know that you have all been sitting on the edge of your seats…waiting…for the big reveal..haha.. SEW..Who won the Top Thread Award…??

Ta-dah!  It’s the mocha green thread…she was just too difficult to say NO to! She really knew how to strut her stuff!!

P1110043 Isn’t this thread holder♥ sweet?  My husband♥ made it for me…I think he is hoping to keep me better organized while travelling…

See there is a place for EVERYTHING!!

P1110039  Pins, needles and scissors are held on the side by heavy duty magnets, thimble on a post and seam ripper in the hole…P1110041 The spool of red thread is really the handle to pull out the doweling that holds the real thread!!  AND if I should get amnesia I know that my name is Sweet P!  He’s thought of everything!!  :o) P1110042

BUT…will it keep the pins out of the couch…?  Time will tell…

BUT enough of the Thread Holder…onto the stitching….  Yes, the mocha green thread won…SEW what do you think?

Is the mocha green colour not PERECT?

P1110057 P1110050  You need a close up shot…

P1110052

I am so happy with the way she is coming along…the stitches are bigger than normal hand quilting and the thread is Perle Cotton #8 so it is a lot thicker thread and not as easy to pull through…but I ♥love♥ the look!!  It is so worth having a sore thumb for! P1110056

I used a Clover Pen to mark my lines to help me stay on the straight and narrow…and the blue lines came right out…there is an eraser end but I just used a damp cloth to dab out the lines…gone in seconds!  Love this marking pen!!

I have 11 blocks stitched…16 more to go!!  Hope I can get some stitching done…in between wrapping, baking, cleaning, packing…

Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Stitching!~P

I didn't enter that one, I had to think to enter and I am not good at that, lately, lol.

Today I am cutting paper, something my brain can handle today. I Spent hours trying to figure out a border color and can't make up my mind, so will think about it.

  23. The green thread and your hand quilting is perfect. DH should win husband of the year award, what a great gift! I just received a little wooden thread holder in the mail, a gift from the daughter of a quilting friend that passed away this year. I will treasure it, but I think that she would approve of me adding some magnets on the side - she was a very practical lady - thank you for the idea. Happy quilting Sue SA.
