A Christmas Treasure…

As promised, I’d like to share Carol’s ‘little’ advent calendar in more detail, after all, it took her over FIVE years to make…but what a labour of love it was!!

 P1100731

Each of the advent pictures on this quilt are really separate little mini quilts.  Today, because it is December First, this little advent calendar will be bare- each little mini picture quilt will be removed and placed inside this bag.

Each day someone will reach inside the bag…

P1100739

..and select a mini quilt and fit it under the little triangular corners until the Quilt is full and Christmas is here.  See how each square is a little wee quilt…so sweet!!

P1100733

Besides the typical Christmas theme quilts like candy cane, reindeer…

and Santa…

P1100740

a sweet little gingerbread man…

P1100738

Carol has also personalize her little quilt by adding..

…a kangaroo to represent a family trip to Australia,

P1100736

..a trip to Arizona..P1100737   …a mini quilt of the family dog…

P1100741

..a stocking with her son’s name on it…so sweet!

P1100732

..a picture of her son as a toddler (he’s in his twenties now!)

P1100735 There is also a little pink ribboned quilt… Carol was diagnosed with breast Cancer on Dec. 3 (a few years ago) so the square with the pink ribbons is a reminder of how sweet life is!

P1100734

This is truly a little quilt that will be cherished for many, many years to come!!

Well done, Carol!  Thanks for letting me share your Christmas Treasure!

JUST A REMINDER~
