Eureka!! Times TWO!

Yesterday I got such a kick out of Shelley’s Blog (Red Quilts)…she wrote about the gorgeous quilt top that she just completed and her lovely little wool cushions and then she wrote~ “I can't believe no one has contacted me yet to tell me I won something in the Fall into Fall giveaways! LOL! I, mean, I entered so many of them!”  Too funny BUT I think most of us felt that way!!  I got up that morning and said to my husband…well I better check my emails -it IS after all..prize day!!  Such FUN-like Christmas!!  Will Santa come…or won’t he? (My husband of course rolled his eyes!!)

Well I’m a little embarrassed to say SANTA CAME!  There was an email from Cyndi saying that because I left a comment on her blog on Friday night I won a FREE pattern of my choice!!  How sweet is that!!  And what a difficult choice it was!!  Took me 15 minutes to narrow it down between the Fun Flowers and a Snowman pattern…but couldn’t decide WHICH snowman pattern…so I went with the Fun Flowers.  Isn’t it cute?  Love it!

I can see this done up in wools…but it’s lovely in cottons too…choices, choices….Thank you SEW much, Cyndi!!  You really must visit Cyndi’s blog…she has such lovely stitcheries…and she is SEW generous!!

EUREKA!!  There was also an email from Debbie…from Debbie’s Fibreworks telling me that I won these lovely 5 inch squares…would you believe that I don’t own one piece of batik fabric…

..until now… I won 50 5 inch squares…Ohhhhh, I am going to have FUN!!  Thank you SEW much, Debbie!!

SEW much excitement!!

Before I leave to tackle Sunday…I need for us to return to Shelly’s Blog.  She made the most incredible quilt this week…and apparently it’s fast and easy!!  This is the kind of quilt that would be easy to mass produce and give as gifts for Christmas!!    You need to hop over to Shelley’s blog and see it for yourself…I guarantee that this book will go onto a lot of quilter’s Wish Lists this year!

It's called “Tis the Season” by Shelley Wicks and Jeanne Large from Martingale Company.  You REALLY need to go and see Shelley’s quilt…it’s spectacular…and trust me..YOU will be looking for this book too!!

MARKING WITH SOAP UPDATE!!

Yesterday I wrote about how great a sliver of soap is for marking the stitching lines on black wool and cotton..well according to Linda (no blog) USE IVORY Soap as it doesn’t have any of the oils that other soaps may have.  So THANK YOU LINDA!!  I love blogging…there’s a sea of knowledge out there!

Have a super Sunday and Happy Quilting!!~P

  8. Congratulations on your winnings Paulette- I can't believe you have no batik- it is my favorite kind- I have a few boxes full to make quilts_ They are addicting as beads to me and you know how I love beads.
I don't have any wool though- somehow I have not collected wool pieces to do stitcheries. It is so interesting to see all the different things we collect.
Loved your photo of your beautiful RV- it looks like a terrific place for you to holiday all during the winter. You will have more room to take your beads VBG and fabrics.
    Warmest regards,
    Anna

  15. You ARE lucky these days! Don't you just love those flowers? I bought that pattern a couple of weeks ago but picked the Licorice Twist for my "after hours" prize. I was thinking about wool too - after your pincushion round robin, I went on a wool spree and am ready to go!

Thanks for the inspiration - you and Cyndi are both giving me tons of new project ideas!
