As you can SEE, the Clubhouse was buzzing!! A lot of the quilters arrived this week…and we were so happy to see them!! We got a cheery wavy from Doris…and…well the rest were visiting or working!
This Thursday we will board the Quilting bus that will take us to the Road to California Quilt Show…a much anticipated annual event! And YES, the bus is FULL! Many quilters come to The Sands strictly for the Quilting!
Here’s newcomer, Barb, busy working on a Yoga Bag for her friend…
And in what seemed like a couple of minutes, she was finished that and onto other projects…
Like this gorgeous runner….
And this…Yup, no flies on this quilter!!
Some patriotic stars…
Norma finished her bag…
…and matching place mats, made for a special friend!! Just lovely!
Doris was feeling blue…oh yeah!! Loved these fabrics!
And Anne was putting together her swirling quilt…all paper pieced to perfection!!
Yowzers! Teeny tiny pieces…makes one dizzy just thinking (and looking) about it!!
Presto…together!
And at the end of a very productive day…magnificent!
A visitor was working on this lovely piece of stitchery!
And then switched off to this! A little variety is the spice of life!
The pattern was from this magazine…
This was also in her project bag!
Who is that hiding behind her FINISHED topper?
It’s Jan from BC…and of course the topper has BC’s provincial flower in one of the blocks…the Dogwood!!
How pretty is that!
Kim has finished machine appliqueing her vine…and is sandwiching the Dresden Plate Quilt together…getting her ready for…
…FMQ!! A huge job on a domestic machine but she is more than up for the task!
Beside her is Doris (yes we have TWO Doris-es!) BC Doris was busy making wonderful, festive placemats and a carrying bag!
Have you ever tried Reverse Applique? Neither had this visiting quilter…
…but she had a handle on it and was doing a great job, thanks to this book!!
Lindsay was sandwiching her finished top getting it ready for FMQ…and yes, she is going to tackle this one on her Domestic! Stay tuned! This is a gift for her daughter who lives in Europe! It’s to reminder of her BC home…yes, we mother’s will do ANYTHING to make our kids homesick and craving come home!! :o))
Heritage Judy was busy sewing placemats out of the Fat Quarters that she received from her grand-kids for Christmas! She is going to ‘gift’ the placemats back to them!! How’s that for a sweet grandma!
Sandy has got her wee pumpkin mat together and will start the pumpkin applique! Stay tuned!
Darcy was working on her Patriotic Quilt…see the stars ready for applique!!
And me? I am still plugging away on my wee houses! Don’t get me wrong…they are fun and addictive…but I think I need something a little stronger than water while making them!
With the arrival of Claire and Glynis on Tuesday, there won’t be any Clubhouse Quilting for us…Wednesday our ‘schedule’ says that we are off to Temecula! Hmmmm…wonder what we fill find there? Any guesses?
Have a Sunny Sunday and happy Stitching!~P
Love see everyones work! Would you be willing to ask Anne the source of her swirling pattern? Thanks Janet
ReplyDeleteoh those Clubhouse Eager Beavers put the rest of us to shame!!!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! So fun to be back in the clubhouse. Lots of amazing work, and I will have to look for that reverse applique book.
ReplyDeleteI love your little houses too, Paulette. I would think you will need to keep your wits about you with all those little pieces! ;)
Lots of great projects and the girls really do make some beautiful quilts and items. Of course you get nothing done, you are too busy taking photos of all of the other wonderful projects;)

Did you see where Lisa Bongean is opening another Primitive Gatherings Quilt Shop near Temecula? What fun to spend your winters in that area with other quilters. I'm a bit jealous!

ReplyDeleteHow fortunate or lucky you are to have the chance to hang out with a group that is energized and creative. It's so important to surround yourself with inspirational friends. It really keeps you motivated.
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of fabulous new repro CW fabrics I'm guessin'. A visit to that store is definitely on my bucket list. Your Clubhouse Quilters are a busy lot, as are you with those cute little houses. Enjoy your time with your friends from BC, and the Road to California trip.
