TOP of the day to you!!

Yesterday I got ‘er done…cleaned the RV from top to bottom…she was looking good until I started to sew!

But I got ‘er done…

See how clean the floor looks!!  The rest of the RV looked like a bomb went off…;o))!!  BUT sew far the snowmen are looking great…now I will save the applique for another day…

I am VERY sad about the death of my cutting matt…it’s one of those fold up ones..has a pressing mat on the other side…well the matt is warped!!

Can you see the buckle in the mat?  Maybe I folded it up while the ironing pad part was still warm??

I think I will buy just the cutting mat and not the whole sheebang…darn!!  It was sew handy too…. I will see what my BFF, JoAnn, has to say about it…she did send me a coupon in the mail just yesterday…it’s like she KNOWS me sew well…

Today after Yoga, it’s off to the beauty parlour for the muttzos!  Maybe I’ll go back to calling them ‘the girls’ when they are finished!  This desert life takes a toll on them…their white fur parts are always a brownie sand colour…not a pretty look!

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Stitching!~P

  1. Paulette, I recently read you post about the worst tool ever. I have one and didn't mind using it, but after watching the YouTube tutorial, I can't help but wonder how they can sell any of the tools. The way they show is so (SEW) much easier.
    Thanks, Ray

  3. I have one of those too. The cutting mat side is ok but the ironing side has a dip in the middle and it's getting very nasty. No more of those for me. I had bought a small one too for doing starch applique, but I found the silver was coming off onto my applique so I ended up just cutting it in half and now I use a June Tailor ironing mat for the ironing and I kept the small piece of cutting mat for cutting on.

  4. Your snowmen are looking great. Can't wait to see those star eyes sparkling!

I have a mini folding cutting mat and ironing surface and I have to admit I don't know why I got it.

I have a June Tailor ironing square that I take along to classes and a separate cutting mat. I keep them in a bag with my rulers and acrylic sewing machine table. I usually put the cutting mat against the base of the ironing square or apart from it when it is warm.

    I'm sure you'll find something at Joann's.

  6. Cute Snowpeople and trees. I have that same trouble with my fold n go mat. I think mine got a bit hot being stored in the car last summer.
Have fun with your Coupon. My coupon doesn't go into effect until Monday.

  7. My mat buckled too but I just keep cutting on it. It's still convenient and manageable. I find I don't use the ironing side at all because I'm used to a larger ironing surface. Hopefully someday someone will come up with a self-healing cutting surface that won't be heat sensitive.

  8. That is a shame that you can't replace the mat and use the bottom, especially since you use it in the trailer, nice to have a firm surface. I learned the hard way, never to iron on mine, lol.

  9. I ruined a cutting mat by leaving it in the car when I went to a class...it was a cold day but with the sun on the car it got hot in there and the mat warped. There's no fixing it when it's warped. Believe me, I tried! blessings, marlene

  11. Poor "girls" Ms. Emmi says! I have a really small one of those kind of cutting/ironing mats--haven't used it much so it still works. Love those Joann's coupons!

  12. Joann's has cutting mats and all rotary cutting supplies 40% off. I visited our local store a few days ago. I also had a coupon from "her" in the email for 25% off my entire purchase. That makes the mats 65$ off. Sale is also online with free shipping if you spend $40. Get over to Joanns!

  13. Your cutting mat folds?? Maybe I misunderstood. JoAnn and you are getting to be best friends.

  14. Cut it down the middle taking out the warp and still use it. Use garden shears. I did that on mine when accidentally the iron fell over on it. Worked just fine.

  15. Before you throw your handy dandy mat out. Contact the company and they may replace it. I had a June trailer mat. Iron on one side cut on the other and it warped. They replaced it!
