UFO Busting…

Next up…a UFO that is at least four…maybe five YEARS old!  I hand stitched all of these little Lynette Anderson reindeers…then like all good ol’ UFOs..they went into a tote, with the matching fabric and pattern, and they waited…and waited and waited!  Finally, they are seeing the light of day again…

I love working at the Clubhouse…no crawling around the floor for us…no siree…you can push two tables together and work at your leisure…

P1250749

Which is exactly what I did when placing these stars where they may…

P1250751

The large bare spot without stars in the right bottom corner is where some applique will go..

P1250752

The pattern is called ‘Magical Christmas’ by Lynette Anderson.  It was a FREE pattern by Henry Glass way back when…P1250763

Now comes the process of stitching ‘er together!  I have a feeling she’s going to be SWEET…dang sweet!  The fabric is delightfully whimsical…and I love the blue mixed in with the Christmas colours!!  I like this quilt…I might even love this quilt when she’s all done…so WHY did it remain in a tote for SEW many years??  Geeze…don’t ask me!!  Chalk it up to being one of those unexplainable mysteries of the world…

What about YOU?…what’s lurking in your closet?  Have you got any incredible unfinished quilts WAITING to be re-discovered??  Get ‘er out…and get cracking!!  You may be pleasantly surprised!

Have a SUPER Saturday and thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit!!  Happy hunting!~P

  5. This is going to make a wonderful quilt Paulette. You must be so happy to be missing this cold weather here this year! We have more snow now than normally all winter...lol. But we are in much better shape than lots of areas in Canada. Have fun at the club house.

  13. Really cute-wants to me to make something new-NO-----it's UFO year. In fact the next few days are going to be spent purging the fabric that hasn't been touched in years--out it's going. (charity) You have to have room for new, who knows when a good score will happen.

  23. Oh, how exciting to see you on another UFO and such a cute one...gift or keeper? I'm amused when my non-quilting friends ask what/who my current quilt is for. How do you explain? Just because! I have two UFOs pinned for quilting now and am trying to decide which is next. You are an inspiration. So proud of you. How many UFOs must be completed before doing a 'new' quilt? Actually, how do we define a UFO? bought the pattern? have fabric for a particular pattern? have cut out fabric? have stitched? Good question? Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see this one in the finish column.

  24. Your quilt is going to be cute when it's finished Paulette. I have LOTS of UFOs and lots of projects waiting to get started.

One of my 2014 goals is to make progress in getting some of those completed.
