Next up…a UFO that is at least four…maybe five YEARS old! I hand stitched all of these little Lynette Anderson reindeers…then like all good ol’ UFOs..they went into a tote, with the matching fabric and pattern, and they waited…and waited and waited! Finally, they are seeing the light of day again…
I love working at the Clubhouse…no crawling around the floor for us…no siree…you can push two tables together and work at your leisure…
Which is exactly what I did when placing these stars where they may…
The large bare spot without stars in the right bottom corner is where some applique will go..
The pattern is called ‘Magical Christmas’ by Lynette Anderson. It was a FREE pattern by Henry Glass way back when…
Now comes the process of stitching ‘er together! I have a feeling she’s going to be SWEET…dang sweet! The fabric is delightfully whimsical…and I love the blue mixed in with the Christmas colours!! I like this quilt…I might even love this quilt when she’s all done…so WHY did it remain in a tote for SEW many years?? Geeze…don’t ask me!! Chalk it up to being one of those unexplainable mysteries of the world…
What about YOU?…what’s lurking in your closet? Have you got any incredible unfinished quilts WAITING to be re-discovered?? Get ‘er out…and get cracking!! You may be pleasantly surprised!
Have a SUPER Saturday and thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit!! Happy hunting!~P
Very cute!. This year I am trying to just use my stash. Who knows what erasures I might find.
ReplyDeleteThat is one sweet little quilt!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be one dang cute quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to know what is lurking in my closet. LOL!
Beautiful job on the embroidery!! You must feel like a million bucks to be finishing up such an adorable UFO!! Smarty pants!!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI do think you will love this quilt, Paulette! Who could not? The setting for the little stitcheries is wonderful. Onwards!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to make a wonderful quilt Paulette. You must be so happy to be missing this cold weather here this year! We have more snow now than normally all winter...lol. But we are in much better shape than lots of areas in Canada. Have fun at the club house.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Why did it hide for so long it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLots more snow here, I wish snowmen would magically
appear from all the mounds, just love them.
It's a beautiful day here hope yours is too .⛄⛄
This quilt makes me smile! Those reindeer and the fabrics are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous facility to sew in, too!
That is darling! I just finished my last block of my Oklahoma Beauty quilt that I've been working on for months. I don't even have it together and I watch you churn out quilt after quilt while I do one block....sigh.... Great job! Cheery wave from Bev
ReplyDeleteI can see that those quilt blocks are really enjoying The Light of Day! Great that you are getting 'er done!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start the new year and get some UFO's finished. I would love to have a big room to lay things out in, every time I do a room, it gets crowded, lol.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Lovely quilt! Fabrics are so pretty. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! Aren't you so glad you got it out and worked on it? :0)
ReplyDeleteReally cute-wants to me to make something new-NO-----it's UFO year. In fact the next few days are going to be spent purging the fabric that hasn't been touched in years--out it's going. (charity) You have to have room for new, who knows when a good score will happen.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to pull one out every now and then and finish it up, isn't it? Fun pattern - enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl--send some of that quilting mojo my way
ReplyDeleteVery sweet, love anything by Lynette Anderson. Lots of work doing the reindeer but so worth it.
ReplyDeleteLike your quilt. I am also trying to work in UFO's this year. My plan is to get one UFO finished per month. Will see how long this will last. Love reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done Paulette, you are using my phrase Sew Finish It Up! Great start for the new year. I'm going to find another project today to finish.

ReplyDeleteThe fabrics you have laying with the reindeer block.....so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, how exciting to see you on another UFO and such a cute one...gift or keeper? I'm amused when my non-quilting friends ask what/who my current quilt is for. How do you explain? Just because! I have two UFOs pinned for quilting now and am trying to decide which is next. You are an inspiration. So proud of you. How many UFOs must be completed before doing a 'new' quilt? Actually, how do we define a UFO? bought the pattern? have fabric for a particular pattern? have cut out fabric? have stitched? Good question? Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see this one in the finish column.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be cute when it's finished Paulette. I have LOTS of UFOs and lots of projects waiting to get started.
ReplyDeleteOne of my 2014 goals is to make progress in getting some of those completed.
