Just An Old Fashion Gal…

Well, it’s done!

My youngest daughter’s quilt top is finished…I must say that it was weighing on me…I started it way back in February/March and it has been sitting there preventing me from enjoying any other project.  Has that ever happened to you?  You have a project that NEEDS to reach completion but your heart just isn’t into it…

Yesterday I put myself out of my misery and got ‘er done!!  What a great feeling…so now I will order some backing fabric…maybe a wild exciting print and finish it off… while she still likes it!!

Yahoo!!  It’s on to another project…think I will be cutting into some nice Civil Wars…:o)))

    Not me either, but it does look nice and will probably fit in her decor? She will be glad you made it for her. Have fun with your own project.

    I really like that top, I think I would have enjoyed working on it, it looks like fun, but I sure understand the feeling of "having" to make a quilt versus "wanting" to!

    At first, I thought this was not my style, but I've seen quite a few chevron quilts online and they are starting to grow on me. Would I make one? Not sure, but your idea of cutting into those Civil War fabrics definitely appeals to me. I'm sure your daughter will love her quilt, especially since YOU made it. Will it be first on the long arm?

    I have several projects like that hanging over my head. When I get to them they only take a few hours to get done and then I feel so much better, but they sit for months making me feel guilty. I think I had better attack one of them today to make me feel a little bit more free. Thanks for the inspiration to 'get er done'

    Happens all the time with all things around the house and then once you get it done it's like why didn't I just finish that?? Now on to the "civil wars" - enjoy!

    I like doing modern quilts for others but i have to decide on the colors and pattern, otherwise I would never finish it, lol. Yours came out beautifully.

    Come on Paulette....break out of that comfort zone!!! lol. It looks wonderful....you'll have fun quilting it too. I have fabric here just about like that....I plan on putting it together for a quilt top one of these days....if I stop signing up for things!!!!! lol

    Love it. I really can't decide these days whether I prefer bright modern quilt or more traditional ones. I truely love working on both and just finished a chevron quilt in similar colors. Hope you have fun quilting it!

    Oh yes. The project that is just not your cup of tea even though you know it's going to be well loved! Your quilt turned out wonderful and a snazzy back will probably make you happier with it too.:)
