Some of the Heritage Quilters participated in a Workshop on a new form of doodling called ZenTangle… Have you heard of it?
Well…neither had I!!
Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images that are unplanned, abstract, black and white art. The ladies in the workshop created square paper tiles that were exquisitely beautiful and were one of a kind art pieces worthy of framing!
Have a look for yourself!…
Beautiful, aren’t they?! This was what they produced in the morning. After lunch they were going to apply their newly acquired skills to quilting!
Check out these sample quilts! WOW!
A work of Art to say the least!
And when you get REALLY ambitious, doodle a zen-sational umbrella!
The good news is..you don’t HAVE to take a class! You can buy this book….
…OR…just ‘Google’ ZenTangle and you will get unlimited info on how to Zen Doodle! There are free videos and there is even a ZenTangle Blog! So fill your boots…in fact you might even want to ZenTangle them!! Go ahead and make a fashion statement!:o))
Have a Zen-sational day and thanks stopping by!~P
Yes, I have heard of the technique. Not anything I would want to do but the designs can be very intriguing. Are you going to try it?
ReplyDeleteYes I have heard about Zen-Tangles. I have favorite blogs on Bloglovin that I look at once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteJust wait until you see Zen-Tangles done in thread! Totally amazing!
I love love love zentagles!!! Love love love! They are so fun to draw and really do help in the quilting design process. Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteI love Zentangles and wish I could apply the technique to quilting. Can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh I have never heard of such a thing....very very cool...I'm going to look it up on the Internet....and maybe try some doodling...LOL
ReplyDeleteI started playing with Zentangles early last year when my husband was in the hospital (for months). It was such a fun way to still be creative without taking up a lot of space! I have a Pinterest board for it also. It's so much fun. Your the first person I know to have explored it also!
ReplyDeleteAmazing...must resist another complusive activity!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I found out about Zentangles, I wondered how they would look on a quilt. They look great! Are the designs quilted on, or are they drawn on the fabric?
ReplyDeleteLooks very interesting! Have fun zenning!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun but not sure if I have to patience to do them;)

I saw some similar quilting types at the quilting show in Sydney last week (though they were more regular with different 'fillers' separated by puzzle pieces or a spider web. They look amazing up close.
ReplyDeleteYes I have seen them, they can be very addictive. I just need to have a few more hours in my day to play.
ReplyDeleteI doodle like this all the time. it is great fun!
