I got mail!!

Happy New Year!!  (no horns here so I’m squeezing Rylie’s squeak toy! Yay!)

We had a quiet New Year’s Eve…we still have one daughter staying with us so we went to the Show and spent the evening gazing into George Clooney’s eyes…sigh…what a way to ring in the New Year!!  We really liked his new movie “The Descendants”…VERY good and George was great in it!!  And the movie is set in Hawaii…so between shots of George and paradise…well, I was in heaven!

I wish I had something FINISHED to share with you but alas…no stitching was done around here!!  Lots of shopping though…wish I could show you a stacks of recently purchased fabric….but alas no fabric shopping was done around here either!!

BUT I DID GET MAIL (happy dance)…And what a great haul it was!!  Claire, my friend from back home…sent me the kit to make this gorgeous Mat…It’s called ‘Christmas Candle Mat’ by A Piece of Work.

And just look at the lovely mottled wool…

Gorgeous stuff!!  I LOVE IT!!  She knows me SEW well!! THANK YOU SEW MUCH, CLAIRE!!

And then look at what Mary from Quilt Hollow tucked into the wonderful Christmas card that she send to me~

It’s the cutest quilty notepad…too sweet to use…well maybe I will use it to make my JoAnn’s lists of things to buy….haha  THANK YOU SO MUCH, MARY!  That was VERY thoughtful  of you!!

And finally from my Blogging friend, Darlene of Quilt Daze..the cutest pillow sham/wall hanging!!  I LOVE IT!!  It is DANG cute with stockings and GINGERBREAD MEN and everything good!!  And you should SEE her stitching…sheer perfection….

Let’s zoom in for a close-up….  Sweet hey!

THANK YOU SEW MUCH, DARLENE!!  I will treasure this forever!!

So as you can see I was spoilt rotten…and was loving it!!

We dropped Carrie, our last daughter off at the Palm Springs Airport at 5:30 this morning :(…so things will slowly get back to normal around here.

First up for me…a trip to the THE LAUNDRY ROOM!!   I have FOUR mountains of laundry to do!!  Then it’s clean the trailer….and if I hurry I just might get some stitching done!!  Yeah!!

Have a SUNNY SUNday and Happy Quilting!~P

  2. You'll be enjoying that wool mat for sure. I'm glad you are back on the mend. Hope you have a happy and healthy new year, Paulette!

  3. I saw on tv the other day that George Clooney is the number one man that women would like to kiss at midnight on New Year's Eve.

  4. Happy New Years Paulette! Nice to see you 'back', feeling fine and ready to sew. Mild up here, not the winter they said so far. Your gifts are wonderful. So many quilting and sewing ideas already this year, my head is spinning-I have lots of plans.

  5. sure nice to get mail that includes some beautiful gifts!!!..have fun doing laundry and housework!.. I am sure you will have it done in no time flat!!..since you had to be up so dang early!!

  6. Lovely gifties! And doesn't Mary send the nicest cards ever!! They should be framed!

  7. Sos sorry all the kids are gone now. I know mine were here and gone in a blink of an eye.
Love your gifts paulette!! May 2012 bring you much joy and many blessings!

  8. Love the wool candle mat! Just adorable. I know the 5th wheel probably needs a good cleaning but no need to do it all at once. I think several breaks to sew would be just the thing to do today!

  9. Nice gifts to a dear blog friend among us! Happy New Year!!!

  10. You'll have that wool mat done in no time, after the laundry is finished of course. Gifties are so much fun to find in the mail.
    Have a wonderful day.

  11. Wishing you a fun and Happy New Year. Hope it keeps you in stitches.

  12. What lovely get both something you can do yourself (wool kit) and something you can use immediately (notepads and wall hanging) is a real treat. Happy New Year!

  13. Ooh you got some lovely gifts, girl, enjoy that sun for me - we actually saw it today for .4 seconds...then it snowed...

  14. You sure have some great looking things there, Paulette. Thanks for sharing 2011 and we'll look forward to more in 2012. Enjoy!

  15. Oh, that wool rug is beautiful. I know you'll have lots of fun working on that one. :-)

    You're welcome, my friend.

  16. Beautiful gifts. Happy New Year!

  17. Thanks for the heads up on the new Penny Rug BOM. The little candle mat is so modern and old world mixed into one. I haven't taken the plunge to do anything made with wool yet but I sure like the look and I already love embroidery.
