Can anyone out there in blogland help my friend, Sandra?
Sandra received this wonderful old quilt from her cousin… apparently Sandra’s mother made it years ago and it has now found it’s way back to Sandra’s loving arms!
Sandra is wondering if anyone can identify the name of this pattern? Any thoughts out there??
It looks to me to be a variation of the fan block…or Dresden block but I have no idea of what the pattern is called…? It really is a unique and beautiful quilt!
I love hearing stories of long lost quilts making there way back into the fold of long lost relatives!! Like a long lost love story!

It looks like it is from the 1930s and a variation of the Drunkards Path. Maybe if you sent it to Barbra Brackman's blog she might comment on it. Worth a try.

Hi, Paulette! Happy New year! In the block pattern illustration of the endpapers of the Elm Creek Quilts novel "The Winding Ways Quilt" the pattern is identified as Baby Bunting. Have a look at this quilt: http://elmcreek.net/gallery/quilts/welcome-baby-emily where one large version of the block has been used to create the quilt. Where Jennifer Chaverini has the name from I don't know...

That pattern is Mohawk Trail, also sometimes called Baby Bunting.

Baby Bunting, many 1930's quilts have this pattern. A few are published in antique quilt books.
She should contact Barbara Brackman who is an expert in identifying old quilt patterns.
