Thank YOU, Norma!!

Look at what the Postman delivered to The Sands…a gift from Norma Whaley!  Isn’t Norma the sweetest!!  It’s her newest quilt pattern called ‘Winter Wonderland’ and it is a beauty!

I swear, Norma does not sleep!  How she keeps cranking out these gorgeous and unique designs boggles the mind!  She has got to be one of the most talented and GENEROUS designers ever!

If you would like to make this quilt and would like to do as part of a SEW ALONG, then you need to hurry over to the new Facebook page called ‘Winter Wonderland Sew Along’!  You will see all the info there…The Sew Along starts on January 1st so you have time to get your pattern and fabrics ready…if you hurry!

I am REALLY toying with the idea of joining in on the FUN…and it’s a great way to get ‘er done!!  The first month they are starting with the side tree panel, which would be a nice and easy way to ease into the project!  Plus with this project you could mix it up with Homespuns and wools…and even throw in some Japanese yarn dyed fabrics!

The only thing that’s stopping me is that my STASH is at home…which means I NEED to go shopping!!  Oh..darn! :o))) (Did I sound convincing)…haha  So if I can get to a Quilt Shop between Christmas and New Year, then I think it’s a GO!  My plan is to ply the hubby with butter tarts and shortbread and see what happens!  And if I remember correctly…Grand Country Quilts and Fat Quarter Shop had a fantastic sale in between Christmas and New Years last year…now wouldn’t that be nice if it was an ANNUAL event!

So THANK YOU NORMA…looks like I might be in on this SEW ALONG!  If anyone wants to join me, then hop aboard!  The more the merrier!  I know for a fact that Glynis will be in…that is, if she hasn’t already whipped it up!!  She is another one who never sleeps!

Speaking of busy friends….Check out what my friend, Claire, stitched up this week.  She took Stacy’s FREE pattern (from Buttermilk Basin’s Primitive Christmas Blog Hop Dec. 14th. post) and reduced it in size and made this adorable ornament for her tree!  CUTE!!

I’m liking that glass star too!!

And Claire whipped this little guy up as a gift for a neighbour!  Isn’t it wonderful to be able to pick up a needle and thread and be able to create a unique and wonderful gift for someone special! And something as cute as THIS!  Dang sweet!

In less than a month, both Claire and Glynis will be flying in to Palm Springs to spend five days taking in Quilt Shops and The Road to California Quilt Show!!  YEEHAW!!  I can’t wait!!  Let the good times roll…

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P

  2. The log cabin background is such a good idea for the Santa. I pinned it so I can remember for future use.

  6. I think the Santa on the log cabin is a Cheri Payne design. It is adorable.

  12. This is a wonderful TT pattern and so doable. I would love to do it, but have a few other commitments which reminds me, are we still doing 365 Scrap Houses? Also, a few months ago you posted a magazine because it had baskets on the cover and a great pattern. I've looked through old posts and can't find it. Do you remember which issue of which magazine? Thank you!
