Sort of…finished…

The Homespun Basket quilt is finished…well sort of…P1230815

Last night I agonized over the border fabrics…I came up with the thin orangie/red border and was going to sew on a wider green…but hesitated….  Nope…just didn’t like it!  Blue was out, I didn’t have any more of the turquoise…brown was blah!

P1230817

I may end up picking off this border…

P1230818

…or I may just leave it, as is.

P1230819

I do like how the red border ties all the reds and browns together…

P1230820

Yup…I might just leave it…

P1230816

Or not!  Decisions…decisions!  Why do we quilters agonize over these things!!

Thanks for listening…:o))

Have a good one!~P

  1. Hi!
I think it is perfect! I do not think it needs any more borders either. The baskets pop out now and if you add more borders, all the smashing and border fabrics will take over instead.
    Take care, Leslie

  2. I say leave it and move on to the next quilt. This border is the perfect choice. Good job, P.

  3. I agree. It looks perfect just the way it is. The red border makes the blocks stand out so nicely. why mess with perfection!

  5. Quick, quilt it - before you change your mind again. Life is too short to worry about such things. It is beautiful, I think it is a great border for this quilt.

  12. Like everyone else, I like the red too. I agree with Sandi that it will be nice to bind it in the same fabric too, since it is quite narrow.

However, I disagree with everyone who is telling you to just finish and move on. It takes as long as it takes, and the bottom line is for you to be happy with it.

    It's going to be great!

  21. I think it is finished. The red border works beautifully to tie everything together and I really don't see that adding another one would bring anything else to the party.

  22. The red fabric is a good choice. I thought that the minute I saw the picture without reading anything. My two cents worth.
I like the pieced sashing between the basket blocks.

  26. I think it's great the way it is. I also think your two dogs are cuties. Our daughter had a cockapoo and he was the greatest little pooch. We loved him.

  27. I actually love the red border - I think it sets off the blocks beautifully. But I'd also audition another border with it since the red is narrow. Then maybe use the red, if you have more, for the binding. blessings, marlene
