The Homespun Basket quilt is finished…well sort of…
Last night I agonized over the border fabrics…I came up with the thin orangie/red border and was going to sew on a wider green…but hesitated…. Nope…just didn’t like it! Blue was out, I didn’t have any more of the turquoise…brown was blah!
I may end up picking off this border…
…or I may just leave it, as is.
I do like how the red border ties all the reds and browns together…
Yup…I might just leave it…
Or not! Decisions…decisions! Why do we quilters agonize over these things!!
Thanks for listening…:o))
Have a good one!~P
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI think it is perfect! I do not think it needs any more borders either. The baskets pop out now and if you add more borders, all the smashing and border fabrics will take over instead.
Take care, Leslie
test comment.
ReplyDeleteI say leave it and move on to the next quilt. This border is the perfect choice. Good job, P.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It looks perfect just the way it is. The red border makes the blocks stand out so nicely. why mess with perfection!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! :0)
ReplyDeleteJust let it be. No more borders. Looks pretty perfect to me.
ReplyDeleteQuick, quilt it - before you change your mind again. Life is too short to worry about such things. It is beautiful, I think it is a great border for this quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great,do you have enought to bind with the same fabric?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change a thing! It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the look, the fabrics and beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI still can't decide what to do, nothing is inspiring me that i can do up quick.
Debbie
It's a great quilt! I say finish it up and move on......
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous and I love the red border. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOoh, love this! And the bright border is very sweet.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else, I like the red too. I agree with Sandi that it will be nice to bind it in the same fabric too, since it is quite narrow.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I disagree with everyone who is telling you to just finish and move on. It takes as long as it takes, and the bottom line is for you to be happy with it.
It's going to be great!
I agree with all of the above. I think the border is perfect the way it is. Lovely basket quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the baskets and the border is great!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect, no agonizing just move onto next project! Lifetime is short and quilt list long I say!
ReplyDeleteNo borders needed! Could you email the pattern to me??

I love how your quilt turned out, it is lovely. Thank you for the pattern.
ReplyDeletePaulette,
ReplyDeleteI would not change a thing! It is quite perfect!!
Karen
I like the red a lot! Hope you keep it.
ReplyDeleteLeave it - looks great. Good job..........
ReplyDeleteI think it is finished. The red border works beautifully to tie everything together and I really don't see that adding another one would bring anything else to the party.
ReplyDeleteThe red fabric is a good choice. I thought that the minute I saw the picture without reading anything. My two cents worth.
ReplyDeleteI like the pieced sashing between the basket blocks.
Looks great... Would love the pattern. (rcortez100@verizon.net) Have a passion for baskets and these plaid ones are awesome.
ReplyDeleteTerry
Your baskets are so fun! And the border is perfect. Wouldn't change a thing!
ReplyDeleteLove it as is! Many thanks for sending me your pattern!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great the way it is. I also think your two dogs are cuties. Our daughter had a cockapoo and he was the greatest little pooch. We loved him.
ReplyDeleteLove it...just as it is....
ReplyDeleteI actually love the red border - I think it sets off the blocks beautifully. But I'd also audition another border with it since the red is narrow. Then maybe use the red, if you have more, for the binding. blessings, marlene
