Yup, I can’t wait to start the “Where the Cows Come Home” Sew A-Long, thanks to Kathy Cardiff!
If you remember, Kathy Cardiff and her daughter, Taylor, are the designers of this magnificent quilt…seen here on my last year’s visit to the Country Loft Quilt Shop in LaMesa, CA!
As soon as I laid eyes on this quilt I KNEW I would be making her! Seeing her at the Loft was so awe inspiring…I swear, MUSIC played when we met for the first time!
OK…fast forward to last week…when I bumped into Kathy over at Primitive Gatherings’ CA Quilt Shop on their opening day. It was so great to finally meet her and of course we talked about how excited we both were about the Sew-A-Long, which will start APRIL 1st right here! (I will be home by then and eager to get out of yard work and housework!! :o)) You may remember that I wrote about the Quilt-A-Long HERE!
So for over a month now I have been gathering supplies to make “Where the Cows Come Home’…but having difficulty finding mustard coloured yarn dyed fabrics (Diamond Textiles) in all the shops. The gold/mustard colour provides the wheat fields in the barn quilt. I told Kathy my dilemma and I also confessed that I hadn’t gone on-line YET…that it was way more fun going to the Quilt Shops with a purpose!
Kathy said to look no further…she would send me a bundle! She took down my address and before I knew it…LOOK WHAT ARRIVED IN THE MAIL! Be still my heart! (Please excuse my mess…yes, I was sewing when Mr. Postman came knocking!!)
And inside…the loveliest Diamond Textiles EVER! Come to MAMA!
And look what’s in the middle…the yummiest, golden mustard colour of wheat fields!!
PERFECT!
Just LOOK at the bundle up against the barn block…
And HERE….
And LOOK at the WHITE fabric on top…I forgot about the WHITE fabric needed for the SNOW! Yowzers, I love this sweet bundle!!
And the Cottage At Carndiff Farm ribbon is going on my quilt label!! Now won’t that be SWEET!
THANK YOU, Kathy, the bundle is PERFECTLY PERFECT!
Now I have another slight problem…how can I possible wait until APRIL FIRST to cut into these delicious fabrics?
But WAIT I will…I need a group of barn loving quilters to join in the FUN! What about YOU? Are you gathering up your supplies? Have you got YOUR BOOK? Have you found your perfect wheat coloured fabrics? Come on, you can’t wait for the cow to come home…you got to get out and do it! What are you waiting for? Come April 1st we have some barns to build!!
Thanks again, Kathy!! You are the very BEST!!
Have a SUNNY Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P
