Let the Good Times Roll…

Yeah!!  It’s FINALLY raining here on the West Coast of Canada!  I never thought I would say this but it was good to wake up to the sound of rain on the roof!  We haven’t had any of the wet stuff since the end of July, and man, did we need it!!  Everything has dried up including many of our rivers…salmon have no where to spawn!  Three or four good days of rain should take care of that!  So bring it on!

Thanks for all the scissor feedback!  I got lots of comments from fellow Canadians and I’m happy to say that a lot of quilters have successfully taken scissors to the airport without getting tasered or handcuffed!

Please NOTE- size matters!!  Here’s the blurb taken off the airlines list of things that you can bring on the plane with you…

Small scissors with blades measuring 6 cm (2.4 in.) or less, measured from the joint - or fulcrum - to the tip, are permitted in carry-on. Scissors with longer blades are permitted in checked baggage.

So I won’t need to bring nail clippers or a thread clipper necklace, or a dental floss container…and I can leave the teeth at home in the jar by the bed…(Sandy suggested biting the thread!) because I can now bring scissors…albeit little ones!

So thank you for all your help!!  Can’t you see me opening my coat and flashing the security person my wee little pair of scissors!!  Yup, can’t wait!  Let the good times roll…

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Quilting!~P

  3. I have visions of you opening your coat at security and having a bunch of scissors hanging. Yes, I'm happy to see the rain too, time to snuggle in with the sewing machine!

  7. We got rain too. Love it...except my hair doesn't appreciate it much. Love the story of the wheels on your chair. That happens all the time to my vacuum.

  8. Hi Paulette!
When I go thru security, (they make you take off your coat), is I have my sewing project in a clear, zip lock bag. I have my scissors attached to a little needle case, and I put the ziplock bag on top of my jacket, and put the needle case on top of the bag, open it up so they can see the needles, and flip out the scissors, attached to the needlecase, so they can see it right off the top.
They tell me it makes it much easier for the scanners.
Otherwise, if they find it thru the scanner, they all freak, and the supervisor comes over!
have a great trip! You will love Ottawa, it is soooo pretty!
    Take care, Leslie
