SCORE!!

If you are a regular reader, then you KNOW how much I enjoy a 'good' garage sale or Thrift Shop...WELL...this last Saturday was hot...REALLY hot for me!  Notice I say "for ME"...you will probably shake your head and mutter 'junk' or 'what was she thinking?' or 'I hope she gets help...SOON!' haha...but that doesn't matter...I love my finds!

Check them out...

This is an unusual magazine rack...high on the back and then low in the front.  I had an immediate 'vision' for it....
Drape a small quilt on the back and then put wee pillows in the front section!  Sew CUTE!!
A quilt kit filled with lovely fabrics... in my colours.... with a wee splash of turquoise...be adventuresome I say!!

Three garden iron works of art...they have already found nooks and crannies in the garden and look wonderful!

Last Christmas I wanted some bottle brush trees for displays and of course, couldn't find any!  I won't have that problem next Christmas!!  SCORE!!

Four old crocks with lids and an enamel tray.  (My eldest daughter collects enamelware...;o)

And YES, I CAN show some restraint....look at what I left behind!!  This framed (antique?) needle punched wall hanging...
It really was lovely...(pics aren't doing it justice...)

Do you think it is needle punch?

It was $75 but the shop was having a Half Off everything in the shore...so for $37.50 it could have been yours!
Consider it the one that 'got away'...

AND the other thing that got away...all I can say is, it's a good thing that I'm not a 'fisher-woman'!  Can't you see the look on hubby's face IF I pulled into the driveway with this strapped to the roof of my car?  Yup, things could be a lot worse....haha!!

Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Stitching!~P

  4. I think the framed star piece looks more like a continental stitched needlework piece. Similar to a half stitch of cross stitch done on canvas.

The magazine stand is perfect for the mini quilt display. Looks like a fun outing!

  6. I surely wish I lived closer, I think we could get into a lot of trouble together! That magazine rack is marvelous. You just have to have an eye and you surely have it. I believe the needlepoint piece might be from India or Pakistan. I have seen a few myself (and left them behind as well. As for the kayak, I work in the marine industry and spend a lot of time on the water, but I'm not that into boats you have to wear so just as well that you left it there. Thanks for sharing!

  8. You have a great eye, P. The magazine rack looks so cute with the little quilt and pillows, I never would have thought of that. Love the four crocks. I have two and, if I remember correctly, I bought them at Woodwards many, many years ago and they were filled with Dijon mustard. To bad we don't get packaging like that today. Don't think the wall hanging is needle punch, looks more like needlepoint.
