Shear Bliss...

You meet the nicest people while blogging!  Take Missouri Joyce for instance...she is a loyal reader...and when she saw this picture on my blog she sent me an email!

This was a picture taken of my quilting daughter's sewing room...those are old vintage scissors that Erin 'found' and loves and hangs proudly!  She had declared that she had officially started an old Scissor Collection!  Well Joyce emailed to say that she owned two pairs of antique scissors that she would like to donate to Erin's collection...I got a laugh, Joyce said they would be considered "JUNK" by her children and would be tossed after 'she goes'!  (I have often had those same thoughts about A LOT of my 'stuff'!  So I knew EXACTLY what Joyce meant! :o))

WELL...look at what Erin found in her mailbox this week....from Missouri Joyce!
Erin said they are ADORABLE...small, heavy, and tarnished in all the right places...perfect antique scissors!  She is in 'SHEAR' heaven!!  Thank you so much, Joyce!!  Erin can't believe that a complete stranger sent her such a thoughtful, special gift!

Yup...you meet the nicest people in blogland!!

THANKS AGAIN, JOYCE!!  You are a 'cut' above the rest!  :o))

Have a Super Saturday and Happy Quilting!~P

  5. The pair on the left are similar to a pair I have. I believe these are buttonhole scissors, which are used to cut the slit in a buttonhole. I am not sure if these are even made anymore.

  6. Arrowhead Gramma is correct...the scissors are for cutting buttonholes and they were wonderful to have when I made lots of clothing. I hadn't thought of them as antiquated, but now that it's been brought to my attention I guess I should hang mine up in my sewing room with my other old scissors! (big smile)
