Schoolhouse Rocks…

The Schoolhouse Quilt topper is FINISHED (insert a happy dance!!)…and I am dying to show you!!…BUT as you may remember, this is going to be the wedding quilt for my school teacher daughter and her school teacher fiancé…which means it really should be a surprise… Don’t you HATE keeping secrets!

OK…just a peak…there is a lovely saw tooth border going around the schoolhouse…followed by a wide 6 1/2” white framing border….IMG_4885

The houses are positive and negative and finish at 12” square…LOVE that!

Thirty houses = one big mothering quilt!  Too big for my wee mid-arm to handle, so I will bring in the pros!  (Thank goodness!!)  The backing fabric should arrive any day now from Missouri Quilt Co…along with a few Charm Packs for ME…(OK..I had a week moment, their shipping is a flat $20 and I mean REALLY..they’re only Charm Packs…and a gal needs a little reward after ‘working’ so hard!:o) I knew you would agree!

Hazel, our long arm quilter extraordinaire, has been booked…the sun is shining and all is right with the world!  The big reveal will be in July…after the wedding!  It will be the merging of two schoolhouses!

Have a thrilling Thursday…and Happy Quilting!~P  (Good thing I checked…I seriously thought it was Friday, which is my housework day…so YIPEEE…it’s TH:)RILLING Thursday!!..I get to PLAY!!)

  2. Your sneak peak was just enough to know it's going to be an awesome wedding quilt. And once the quilting covers all that open space it will be doubly awesome!

  3. Congrats on your finishing so quickly. Weak moments are all to frequent temptations for quilters...sometimes they happen weekly!
