This quilt has been hanging around FOREVER…but not anymore!! She is going up on the wall and soon!!
It all started with Anne from Cotton ‘n Wood Blog…she put out the call for anyone who wanted to make this quilt. I HAD the book…and this quilt had been put on the TO DO LIST years ago…and I still loved it!! What was I waiting for? Here was the push I needed…and man, did Anne push!! She was a great foremanwoman! She had us hammer and nailing, sawing and pouring cement! One house a month…and slowly Duh Hood took shape!
The past few months I have been busy BIG stitch quilting….
…around every door, window and house…
I love the vine…and I love the BIG stitching around the leaves and stars…
Thanks Anne..for cracking duh whip!!
Some of our group has finished…
…and some are still WIP…others are UFOs…
All I can say is… KEEP GOING!! You won’t be sorry!
Trust me…you will feel like a STAR!
Thanks for touring Duh Hood with me!! I am SEW happy that Homespun Houses is Duh-one!
Have a good one!~P

ReplyDeleteYou really should put some kind of health warning up prior to showing such a beautiful quilt!! ;) Inspiration is all well and good but it can have dire consequences on hubby's much loved (and much under-used) wallet! Your quilt made me do it! hehehe

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! Love the fabrics, the border, the big stitching! I will be checking the link. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see your homey quilt done! I started searching for this book months ago when you girls were posting about them...because like so many I fell in love. Sadly the book is only available on the secondary market & at extreme prices. Patience finally paid off last week and I found a reasonably priced copy on Amazon. Funny enough...it was in my mailbox this evening and its wonderful! Thanks for the eye candy this morning and the renewed excitement to build my own little neighborhood!
