Sew…what’s happening in my little corner of the world? Well as the weather man said last night, we are experiencing a MINI heat wave! Mini or Maxi..I don’t like it! 31C is just too darn hot to do anything…except stitch!
So sew I did…with this heavy wool quilt on my lap, I put the last of the hand quilting stitches on it!! I love what I have been calling the ‘ghost’ stitches…the silhouettes of stars…
…and leaves…
…and more leaves!
These ghost stitchings really are a sweet surprise nestled in amongst the bits of wool!
All quilting is DONE, FINISHED, COMPLETE!! Today the binding goes on…and the temperature is suppose to go up a few more degrees! Looks like it’s me, under the quilt for one more day…me, the quilt and our meager little fan…Got to get ‘er done!!
If you have time, please pop in on Jackie from Blessed Beyond Belief…she is battling cancer and really could use your thoughts, prayers and cheery hellos! She is such a lovely lady and wonderful quilter.. and she takes everything in stride with a smile on her face! Besides…it’s always nice to know that others are thinking of you and pulling for you in other parts of the world! AND..every little prayer helps!
Have a thoughtful, thankful Thursday and Happy Quilting!~P
We just passed a heat wave, nice storm last night, so a few days of respite.

Your quilting is lovely. Quilting the leaf and star shapes around the applique is a terrific idea. Good job!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wool quilt, your handquilting looks exquisite! Will we see it at the local fall fair?
ReplyDeleteHere in the deep south I never find any decent woolens at the thrift shops and can't afford to buy new wool fabric. Is it possible to use flannel and needle turn it to make these lovely primitive designs?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your opinion,

Oops, I forgot to tell you how much I love all your posts and your work! So gorgeous! ~ Lynda
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful! You inspired me to dig in the hall closet and find my homespun applique blocks. I'm going to finish that quilt now. I love the homespuns you use too. I just haven't done wool, although I love it, because it's so expensive. I'm seriously thinking of ordering wool fabric for the shop. Do you think it would sell? Thanks for the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteOh my... this quilt just keeps getting more and more beautiful! :-) The humidity finally left us... but the heat is still here... that's why I'm stickin' to tiny cross stitches for a little while longer... lol!
ReplyDeletebeautiful work!
ReplyDeletethanks for all your kind words and prayers...i am comfortable in my saviours choices for me but do appreciate the loving thots and prayers
ReplyDeleteWell done, girl - but how you can do this when it's so hot is beyond me, lol. We're having lovely AUTUMN weather right now!
ReplyDeleteThe quilting stitch done so that you can see it is the icing on the cake.
ReplyDelete*ulp* I stole your title yesterday and didn't even realise it until this morning. I'm thinking that if I have a brain fart and can't come up with a decent title, I'll need to avoid "This and That"?
ReplyDeleteSorry 'bout that.
I am loving seeing your hand quilting and the stars and leaves is a great idea-just might have to steal it?? I have been putting off quilting mine as it is out of my comfort zone so don't forget to take lots of pics when you finish!! This girl shamelessly might do simiar.....what thread are you using?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shazy
Your quilt is beautiful!! Just in time for fall! We have had a very hot summer here in Ohio. Finally getting some rain and the grass is turning from brown back to green- yayyyy!! Our temps for the next week are in the 70's- low 80's and sooo looking forward to it! Have a great weekend!:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Paulette!! How sweet to have it done!!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart that quilting is just perfect for the quilt - I love how the little surprises are nestled in amongst the appliques. As always you are an inspiration. Hope it's cooling down :)
