Crawford’s Farm Quilt Show 2012…

Picture sunshine, meadows and fields, woods and shade, throw in a bubbling brook and a sweet little pond and tons of gorgeous quilts and you have found HEAVEN…or as we call it here on Vancouver Island, Crawford’s Quilt Show!  Sharing heaven with your quilting buddies made this year even more special for me!  I went with Claire and her sister, Doreen and Sandy…a new beginning quilter!  The day before the show, I would have said how can a perfect Quilt Show get any BETTER…well..apparently it CAN!

Enough of the TALK…the proof is in the pudding!  Pour yourself a coffee and get a tissue…you need to be prepared to DROOL!

Meet Anne Crawford, the lady behind this Quilt Show…and one of the NICEST quilters that you would EVER want to meet!  What a dynamo…imagine the preparation that has to happen to get this show off the ground!!  Makes me want to take a nap just thinking about it!!

All the quilters on Vancouver Island THANK YOU, Anne!!

Feast your eyes on this…no this is NOT Anne’s Laundry!!  This is just one of the many fields of quilts!!

And left of the same tree…over and around into the woods!!  See..told you SEW.. HEAVEN!

Now I of course CAN’T show you every quilt but I can give you a sampling…which may take me a few days…:o)

Let’s start with the Winding Way…I love Winding Way quilts and this one is gorgeous…batiks and all!!  I love the way this quilter put the dark circle off to one side…your eye is just naturally drawn to that one spot!  Very clever!

P1190530

Yup, beautiful work…

You will see several of these Granny Square Quilts…NOW the story was…(and I don’t know if this is true but you know how Quilters like to talk…:)..Nine quilters got together to make these quilts…they pooled their fabrics and off they went…putting their own spin on things!  So this is Quilt number one…

P1190532 This is taking me longer than I thought…so you just wander and I will look over your shoulder…

Number 4…

At first we thought this Christmas Quilt was made up of diamond blocks but it was made of equilateral triangles…very effective and a great way to use up those little bits of Christmas left-overs!

P1190542

Very effective and loved the corner blocks…and borders!

P1190543

Ahhh…another scrappy marvel…love it!

Have a Sunny Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P

  2. The brown and tan quilt speaks to me. Very graphic but simple sewing with those strips and squares.
