The sun is still shining down on the Crawford’s Farm Quilt Show…How about you? Are getting tired of wandering around? Are you up for one more go round?
Glynis wasn’t the only one with wool at the show(see yesterday)…yes, WOOL is slowly coming to our little valley!!
Joan got an ‘A+’ for her gorgeous little Robin Strawberries Mat (a Bonnie Sullivan design)…doesn’t it look sweet flying amongst the branches?
And here’s Delore’s adorable Pumpkin Mat (Primitive Gatherings)! Loved seeing these at the show!
And what little girl wouldn’t LOVE this kitty quilt…DANG cute!
I love these scrappy quilts that are pulled together with one focal colour! Very pretty!
And here’s Joan’s scrappy quilt…all made with scraps from her stash. Don’t you love the way she has cut off the corners for added interest!
And here’s a picture of the ‘girls’,(to the left.. Claire, sister Doreen and Sandy)…having a last look at ‘Folk Art Bloom’ off in the distance!
I thought this quilt was sweet…a simple four patch quilt kicked up a notch with the addition of the square, beige, very soft corduroy blocks!
We all loved this appliquéd masterpiece! (a Pat Sloan design) Very nice!
I have ADDED this little quilt to my “Bucket List”! I’m going to have to live to be at least 150 years old, to get everything done…but only if I STOP adding things to this list!
I’m always in awe of the Drunkard’s Path…and this one was no exception! Lovely…especially with the sunlight filtering through it! Looked almost angelic…
This one left me speechless…well…almost speechless!! haha
Are you feeling dizzy yet?! WOW!! Incredible!
You might remember this quilt from our Heritage meeting…but it is definitely worthy of another look!! LOVE this quilt!!
You can never have too many chickens and roosters around the house…right, Quilt Sue? This one is expertly hand appliquéd!
THIS one took my breath away!! (Which isn’t a good thing when you NEED to live to be 150!) Magnificent! Loved the colours, the Dresden plates, the on point borders…and the QUILTING!!
Let me give you a closer look….
Closer yet…ahhhh now we’re talkin’!
Oh what the heck…put your nose right up to it! See what I mean! Stunning!!
Makes you want to get out those fabric sandwiches and start practicing your FMQ, doesn’t it?…well…almost…
So many lovely quilts…beckoning you on…
:> Sweet…
and scrappy!! I NEED to make this one!! Make that 151 years old!
And this one is already on my Bucket List…spectacular!!
All hand quilted by a master stitcher!
Now isn’t that a great quilt to end the show? Yup, the Crawford Quilt Show gets better and better with each passing year!! But alas, we will have to wait TWO years for the next show…but don’t despair! Nanaimo will be having their show next year at about this time…and WE will definitely be going!!
Of course ‘the girls’ and I had to stop for lunch on the way home. We went to the River Walk Cafe for authentic First Nation Cuisine, located on the banks of the Cowichan River. This is called Tea for one…crab cake, clam strips, bannock, candied salmon, salmon pate, a spicy dip, fresh fruit and blackberry scone with blackberry jam…plus a berry delicious iced tea! Delish! I wish I had taken pictures of the patio overlooking the Cowichan River (gorgeous!!)…but we were too busy chowing down and talking quilts…it’s what quilters do best!
Hope you enjoyed the Crawfords’ Quilt Show as much as we did…nahhhh… not possible!
Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P
Thanks Sweet P,
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all the eye candy; oh yes, and the delicious food. Am so inspired I'm off to start cutting my homespun plaids for the cover quilt on Fall Primitive Quilts magazine. Just 101 here in Tulare later this afternoon...whew. You know the cotton crop is thriving!

Thank you for posting pictures. I was hoping to go but ended up going out to Ucluelet and Tofino for a visit to the coast instead. I was also just reading about tea at the River Walk Cafe today in a magazine. Sounds like it is definitely worth a drive out to the Cowichan Valley.

Paulette, you did a wonderful job of promoting the quilt show and hopefully there will be a lot more quilts there in two years time as it is such a beautiful setting. I remember you promoting in last year as well.
