You Meet the Nicest People…

…in Blogland!  And sometimes these people happen to be famous quilt/fabric designers…like KATE SPAIN!

If you are a regular reader, then you know that my middle daughter got married earlier this month!  After the wedding, I was writing about how guests signed plain off-white rectangles of fabric which will eventually be turned into a wedding quilt for the happy couple!

My daughter, Maggie had picked out the fabric ‘Horizon’ by Kate Spain to go with the plain off-white blocks.  It’s Kate’s newest line and will be out in September!  Well, after writing this post, I received a comment from Kate Spain HERSELF “wondering if it would be possible for her to add a tiny scrap of fabric to their special wedding quilt?”  OMGosh!!  ONLY in blogland could this happen!!

I immediately phoned my eldest daughter, who is a modern quilter and LOVES Kate Spain!  You’d think a rock star had come calling!!  I have to say that for a nano-second Erin’s nose was just a teeny tiny bit out of joint…I believe the word ‘white-out’ was used, followed by insert Erin’s name on the square…:o)  Nope, it was all good!  haha…

So after a few emails flew back and forth, it was arranged that  Kate was sending a block for Maggie and Toby’s quilt!  How exciting!!

Well look at what the mailman dropped off yesterday…IMG_1751

I was expecting a card and block…how cute is this…and in Maggie’s wedding colours!

AND…also in the package was a ‘little sumthin’ sumthin’ for Erin and me…!!

OMGosh…will you LOOK at this!!  A jelly roll of ‘Daydream’ and a Charm Pack of ‘Solstice’ from KATE SPAIN!!  Is Kate Spain not the sweetest designer on the planet!  (No this is NOT a question…it is a FACT!!)  This fabric is gorgeous…bright and happy just like Kate herself!

Yup…I might have to wrestle Erin to the ground for a piece of this fabric!  :O)  Also check out the card…designed by Kate with the cutest Kate Spain logo on the back!  Dang stinking cute!

Yes, you meet the nicest people in Blogland!!  Thank YOU SEW MUCH, Kate Spain!  The happy couple’s quilt just got bumped up to a whole new level!!

And just look at what’s over the ‘HORIZON’…coming next month to a shop near YOU!

Is this not the prettiest fabric EVER!  ‘HORIZON’ designed by Kate Spain… one talented and very generous designer!

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Stitching!~P

  7. Nice! I also had a comment just this week from Kate regarding the post I wrote about her In From the Cold quilt. Nice to know designers are on the look out for posts about them and care enough to follow up.
