Oh yes, I am! STARS AND HOLLY BERRIES...oh man, what a combination too!
Christmas arrived early yesterday when I receive this gorgeous pattern in the mail...
And from none other than one of Santa's Elves...NORMA WHALEY of Timeless Traditions! Yes, Norma has been busy in her workshop designing new patterns! And when she puts on her Elf hat, magical things happen! Like this wonderful pattern...'Stars and Holly Berries'! Check out the stars sprinkled throughout and the bits of holly tucked here and there! And then to top it off, a holly and star vine going around the border! Yup, purely magical!
The nice thing about this quilt is that it is fairly scrappy...red and green homespun, small wee prints and that wonderful black fine gingham check for setting those triangles and corners! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! And I am almost certain that I have everything in my stash! I will be pulling out my homespun tub and taking inventory before heading south!
If you are interested in the quilt and want a closer look at the REAL DEAL then head over to Norma's BLOG for a look-see! Not only has Norma designed this quilt but she has also kitted up the fabric to make it! (A HUGE stack of fabric...go and see for yourself!!) The quilt is big (63"X 80") and for only $158 you can get everything to make the top, including the pattern and that lovely fine checked gingham AND she has even cut out the Vine for you and it's on the bias! Geeze louise...it IS tempting! Hurry over HERE before they are all gone! I mean really, it IS Christmas...and you are SEW worth it!
On Norma's Blog she was saying that she has 'Stars and Holly Berries' on loan to 'Sew Cherished'...a wonderful shop that travels to all the quilt shows. In fact, 'Sew Cherished' was at Road to California last year and it was by far my favourite booth! My fingers are crossed that they will be at Road this year (January 2016) and that this quilt will be on display in their booth!! I can't wait to see it in the 'flesh'! Last year, I was AMAZED to see most of Norma's quilts on display in 'Sew Cherished'...seriously...they were cardiac-arrest-beautiful! Better known as C.A.B. in medical terms!
You can see my 'SEW CHERISHED Booth' pictures HERE...just keep the paddles ready!
SO THANK YOU, NORMA!! I love the pattern and absolutely LOVE the quilt...it was sew BERRY nice of you to think of me!
Now Sweet Norma, would you PLEASE take a well deserved rest, so that we can get some of your quilts made! Even Santa takes a rest...:o)))
Have a thrilling Thursday and happy stitching!~P

ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful pattern and if I was better at quilting, something I would make for Christmas. It is nice since you can use different color ways to change the look.
