Progress to report!! The middle of the quilt is finished...it's been BIG stitch quilted! The PVC quilting frame is great for quilting the middle of the quilt but not so great for the outer edges. But that's OK...now it's time for the hoop and the outer edges!!
Just one stitch at a time...I think I can..I think I can...:o))
I hope you get in some slow stitching this sunny Sunday!~P
I need to get in some "fast stitching" as on the longarm--I have one last customer quilt on the frame.
ReplyDeleteI tried big stitch by hand and it came out smaller, just the way I stitch, but I like the idea of big stitch for prim quilts and working faster, so I need to watch some videos and see how to get rhythm going for it.

Beautiful quilt! I plan on getting back to doing some hand quilting later this fall. I am in the process of hand quilting a top that was made by my great grandmother. I am quilting it for my mom. I need to finish it. What is the name of the pattern of your baskets? I love those.

I have a half hoop that I love to use when close to the edge...have you tried one? It has a piece of fabric that you pin your art eight edge to, love it!
ReplyDeleteOoooohhhhh! This is looking just wonderful! I can't wait to see it when you finish. Love that big stitch quilting!!!
ReplyDeleteThat fan pattern and big stitches just fit the style of your basket quilt. Which is yummy, by the way.
