UFI Report…

Yes, I am still plugging away on UFOs…but it’s slow go for these two projects…I have finished hand quilting one way on the Wee House quilt and I am now going the other way to finish the cross hatching…S.L.O.W. going…now I understand WHY this was a UFO!  P1200017

And I have finished a few more blocks of the JAM Basket blocks…like the writing block (I have been avoiding this one as it is more fun to stitch flowers and baskets :) P1200011 I think my problem is both of these UFOs are hand work projects.  I need to have one hand work project for the evening and a sewing machine UFO for the day…then maybe things would progress a little faster!  Ahhh to be an octopus!

Let me show you the FINISHED blocks in the ‘Baskets of Life’ by JAM project… TEN FINISHED…four more to go!

Let’s zoom in for a close-up…

Please excuse the threads and wrinkles…I REALLY didn’t want to start my day off ironing! :o)

Sweet, aren’t they?!  This is a JoAnn Mullaly pattern (JAM) and if you are interested, you can order it HERE!

We are enjoying a wonderful late summer (almost Fall) here on the West Coast of Canada.  The sun has been shining none stop since the beginning of July with temperatures about 25C…PERFECT…with no rain! Doesn’t get any better than this!!  Hope you are enjoying a wonderful ‘almost Fall’ too!

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P

  1. These baskets and houses are great! I'm not a big fan of hand quilting either.I like all the fancies that a long arm quilter can do! ;-)

  2. I LOVE these! I understand about UFO's! I wish I didn't have my pesky "real job" and could devote the whole day to work on mine. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have a job but I can't seem to get any of my ufo's finished. You are in inspiration!

  3. You really have been busy and creating some beautiful pieces. Now I can't wait to see you quilt them and how you like your new machine. I am going to wait, I saw the new pfaff and love that type better, so will just wait and keep my eyes open.

  5. Hang in there with the UFO's - you will get there.

Your basket blocks - do you put a light interfacing or anything behind the block before you stitch?

  8. I love the baskets. They are so cute. I wish I had only one machine project and one hand project! I just need to get busy on something rather than cleaning my sewing room....not a fun time!

  11. When I read the title to your post, I wondered what a UFI might be. But I figured it out as I read on: it was an Unbelievably Fine Idea to work towards finishing those Untold Fun Items to make room for some Upcoming Fall Inspiration. Clever title, that one. And you thought no one would notice!

  12. I love those baskets - but I do understand what you mean about the writing not being as much fun. However, that block is going to be perfect in that quilt! blessings, marlene
