Dominoes….

Have you ever played with dominoes?…You know… stand the narrow end up and then place the next ones behind it until you have make a long winding trail?  Then the fun begins when you give that first domino a little push…

Well for the last two weeks, that is how my life has been…like falling dominoes…and I mean this in a FUN, GOOD way!

First Domino to fall came when my Siena gifting me her B-Line Quilter Frame!  Who knew that I would EVER own a quilting frame!?  Not me!!

Second Domino…a trip to Sechelt to pick it up!  It was the perfect day and we got to visit Siena and Jack and see Gibsons and Sechelt along with two ferry rides on a glorious sunny day!!  Doesn’t get any better this…and of course we brought the B-Line home!  THANK YOU, SIENA!

Third Domino…started looking for a machine to go on the B-Line.  This machine needed to have at least a 9” throat.  I am on a budget so I wanted a gently used one with as many bells and whistles as possible!  I found NOTHING!!  (I thought I would have to go with a new machine with no bells and whistles!:o(

Fourth Domino…cleaned out the spare bedroom of all my scrapbooking stuff…which included a huge desk, bins, a shelving unit…

Fifth Domino…had to have a Garage Sale to sell the above stuff!

Sixth Domino…if I was having a GS then I might as well make it worth my while…so I cleaned out closets, china cabinets, cupboards, garage, shed and sewing room!

Seventh Domino…EUREKA!!  Found a machine on Craig’s List from a lady in Victoria!  She was selling a Pfaff Grand Quilter 1200 BUT alas…with a Frame and it was slightly above my budget…I had to pass it up as I didn’t need or want another frame…:o(  BUT it had all the bells and whistles…darn!

Eighth Domino…the next day, Mae, the quilter who was selling the Pfaff Grand Quilter 1200 called and said that she was willing to part with EVERYTHING for my ‘budget’ price!  WHAT!!??  I was getting my dream machine WITH all the bells and whistles (stitch regulator and laser light for Pantographs) PLUS a Pfaff Inspira metal frame!  This scenario never even entered my head!  THANK YOU, MAE!

Ninth Domino…picked the machine and all the bits and pieces and tubs of screws and nuts and pieces of metal to put this robot together!  Isn’t the machine a beauty!P1190997

Tenth Domino…had the Garage Sale…and got rid of most of the junk…so now we have room in the spare bedroom for the Pfaff and Frame…(no room for company though…sorry!:o}

Eleventh Domino…letting Siena know that her virgin B-Line was going to remain a Virgin…unless we can sell it to some lucky quilter out there…!

Twelfth Domino…I am off to the Quilting shop so that I can outfit the Pfaff the way she has been accustomed to living…with appropriate thread, needles and bobbins!

Thirteen Domino…B-Line Frame For Sale…NEVER been used…just admired and loved!  (I talked to Siena and we are going to be selling it for her.  She tried selling it in Sechelt but being a small community there just wasn’t enough interest.  I am confident that with our large quilting community here on Vancouver Island that we can sell it for her! Are there any offers out there??:o)

Yikes I can’t end at 13 Dominoes…that would be unlucky!!

Fourteenth Domino…put the Inspira Frame together…this week!

P1200003 P1200002

Yikes! Putting this together may take us more than a week!  Thank goodness it came with a CD!

Fifteenth Domino…Play with my ‘new’ toy!! (insert your own versions of me driving down the freeway with this baby!!  Weeeeeeeeeee…eeee!)

And hopefully Number Sixteen will be that The virgin B-Line Frame is SOLD!

Man I love playing with dominoes!  How about you?

Have a marvelous Monday and Happy Quilting!~P

  7. It is nice when everything falls into place and now I expect to see lots of quilted quilts, lol. I bought mine and right after, the store was closing and sold the pfaff with frame for under 4,000, made me mad, but just bought a creative vision, so had to pay for that;)

  12. Wowsers! What fun you have been having as I have with the books I got at your garage sale! Paulette, I love them - bought 2 mini quilts including a foundation paper one, a bargello one AND stack and whack which I will also definitely use - lol. Sew many plans and good intentions. Whatever, I have already got my money worth in looking and planning enjoyment. And I am jazzed (like that word) about using hand quilter - so very pleased. Have fun with your new toys.

  18. I just want to know how you're going to fit that new machine and frame into the RV when you go south for the winter? ROTFLMAO

Great buy, Paulette. My friend back in Ontario has the same outfit and she loves it. How does that song go?

  20. Dominoes are so grand! Mine were a dead car that turned into a frame and machine... but now I have to figure out how to get the 12 foot table and rails up to a 3rd floor attic workroom - through the window!!! It WILL happen!
