Cowichan Fair 2012…continued…

So here we are…day TWO at the Fair!  I have lots of good stuff yet to show…hope you’re ready!

The first three quilts are what I call the Daisy Quilts…an easy and fun  quilt to make and a great scrap buster!  I put all three together so that you can see what a difference colours and borders make…

                 P1190917

P1190909

All three are gorgeous!  Looks like the judges liked them too!

P1190910

I took a picture of this quilt…because it’s an RV quilt made from the cutest RV fabric!!  Seems to me someone at The Sands also bought this fabric…just can’t remember WHO?  Wouldn’t this be sweet draped over a chair in the 5th wheel?  Oh yah…I can see that!

                 P1190911

Way to go Vicki…second in Wall Hangings and also a Theme Winner… ‘Bounty in our Valley’!  This is going to be cute hanging in your kitchen!

P1190914

And third in the same category….

P1190915

This quilt STILL messes with my mind…can you IMAGE this quilter’s design wall?  YIKES!!  It is so perfect for Fall…

P1190916  P1190918

The centre of this quilt is simply different shades of yellow tied together with a scalloped border of blues and different shades of yellow!  VERY nice…wouldn’t it look lovely in a baby’s room!

P1190919

This wee Dresden is all finished and magnificent.  Just look at that hand quilting!

P1190921

It was up against stiff competition!  This is another wee small quilt made out of fingernail sized hexies also beautifully hand quilted!!

P1190922

This small quilt was also a visual stunner!  Such talent leaves me in awe!

P1190924

The Australian quilters will enjoy these Spring quilts…after all they are gearing up for Spring!

P1190925

Very sweet!

P1190926

Hopefully you can read what this quilter wrote about her Union Jack Pillow!  Love it!

P1190927

Don’t you love seeing a quilt that is on your Bucket List…well for me, this was such a quilt!!  LOVE it and Joan did a mind blowing job!   The Judge’s agree with me…or I guess I agree with them!  :o)

P1190928

Her hand stitched letters look like rope!  She used two different colours of thread to achieve this look…LOVE it!

P1190929

The back was almost as pretty as the front!

P1190930

LOVED this quilt…I want!

P1190941

AND there is NOTHING like a wonderful SCRAP HAPPY quilt..and this one made me smile!

P1190943

And if you like chickens…and who doesn’t …then this one is for YOU!P1190954

And finally this beauty!  I showed you this one already (at Heritage) but it deserves a re-visit…took my breath away then and leaves me giddy now…oh yeah, I’m always like this..:o}

P1190955

Hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!  Tomorrow I want to show you all the non-quilting stuff…such diverse and wonderful talent in our little valley!

Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Quilting!~P

  6. Always love scrap quilts. They inspire me to grab my scraps and start arranging. Now if I just had time to disappear into my sewing room.
