Flying High…or Soon Will Be…

Bunting…pennants…prayer flags…call ‘em what you want… but do you think I made enough?

They are addictive to make…and VERY easy thanks to this Missouri Star Video

IMG_1123

I made a slight change…Missouri Star used the raw edged flap to fold over their tape…I tucked my flap inside and am planning on folding the tape over the finished edge so that there will be no raw edges flapping in the breeze.  The back will be as pretty as the front!

So it’s off to the fabric store for me…I will be looking for wide bias tape to fold over and stitch on!  Then my bunting can fly high too!!

“A Bunting we will go…A Bunting we will go..Heigh Ho the dairy-O…a  HUNTING we will go!” :o)

Have a Super Sunday and happy stitching!~P

  1. OH a bunting of pennants. I thought you were taking a trip! Good idea to make them reversible with the winds they might be showing both sides in Canada.

  2. Excellent idea. I'm toying with the idea of using excess yardage of polyester blends. Ready up to party!!

  3. I would be tempted to cut off that triangle you folded inside and use it to create letters or motifs to put on the pennants.

Love your fabric selection. Fabricana has half price on their notions, too bad you weren't over here on the mainland this weekend.

  4. I made a bunting garland for Happy Birthday and we put it out for all birthdays. I cross stitched the letters. It is a heirloom now.

  5. Hi Paulette,
I'm not a quilter, but my step daughter is. I love every thing you make. Sisters, Oregon is getting ready for their annual, huge quilting show. If you lived closer I know you would enjoy it. http://sistersoutdoorquiltshow.org/

  6. I like the idea of doing something like that, that I can string on my daughters wall. Can't wait to see how yours comes out.

  7. I've made these also and used the double wide bias tape. Super cute! I L.O.V.E. your Homespun Houses Quilt and thanks for sharing the bowl potholder. They absolutely would make great gifts! Both of my parents would use these- thanks for sharing!
