Construction on the Homespun Houses is COMPLETE…like in FINISHED…DONE!!!…and they are ‘move in’ READY!! Yahooooooo!!
My pictures aren’t the greatest…I was going to take the quilt top outside and take some shots in the shade…maybe hanging from a Palm Tree or a Cactus…but I forgot! Life is so busy around here!
So here she is on the floor of the RV and I am standing on a chair!
Thought you’d like to see some close-up shots of some of the houses that are for Sale…all ready for nice families to move into!
See that border circling the neighbourhood…I owe the completion of that vine to Anne (Cotton N’ Wool)…When the construction crew started to tire and falter it was Anne’s chirpy little email saying that she had finished her neighbourhood…and how much she loved it…and how nice ‘this and that’ were…GEEZE…I thought If Anne can finish then so can I!! So there was plenty of overtime for me!
I am so happy Anne cracked the whip and got me moving! Because like her…I LOVE MY NEIGHBOURHOOD!!
Where’s Fred Rogers when you need him…he should be strolling down the street singing “Won’t you be my neighbour?” wearing his cute trademark cardigan sweater!
Yup…I like this neighbourhood a lot!!
So my thanks to Anne and the rest of the Homespun House construction Crews!! I could NEVER have done it without you guys!!
Now let’s have a Block party!!
But wait…Claire has to show you her Homespun Houses…in all fairness Claire started late so she’s not quite finished…BUT she does have the hard part finished…the houses are done…now onto the sashing, border and vines…YOU CAN DO IT, Claire!! Swing that hammer, saw that wood, putty those windows…before you know it your neighbourhood will be finished too…
…and maybe if you’re lucky, ol’ Fred Rogers will be strolling down your streets too.
OMGosh! Here he is to give you a hand!! I wonder if he can swing a hammer??
Watching this sure brought back some great memories…My girls LOVED Mr. Rogers!
Before you go…check out Anne’s finished quilt…and see how the rest of the construction crews are doing!!
Have a FUN Friday and Happy Quilting!~P
That is quite an accomplishment!! Beautiful! E

ReplyDeleteWow, your quilt is gorgeous! I don't know about Mr Rogers but when I was getting ready to wall paper the kitchen when the kids were little, it occurred to me that I had no idea where to start. Just then Mr. Rogers visited Mr. McFeeley (the mailman) and he was wallpapering his kitchen! I watched the show and papered my kitchen...lol! Sweet memories. Love your quilt!

ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt, Mr Rogers would be proud of this neighbourhood.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning! Love the appliqued border. Did you use a homespun for the border, or is it a regular quilter's cotton? It sure looks wonderful. Claire's is also gorgeous...you folks are awesome quilters!
ReplyDeleteThat really is a beautiful quilt and I love the border on it.
