Just a PEEK…

I got an email from Seattle Judy yesterday…would you believer that her car is already packed to the rafters and she will be starting her trek down south on Christmas DAY!  Her kids come over for dinner and presents on Christmas Eve and then the next day she pulls out!!  No flies on Judy!  She will make a stop in Eugene, to visit with her dad… then from there she drives all the way to Palm Springs without stopping…that’s about a 14 hour driving day…and she does it solo!!  What a woman!  That would KILL me!

Anyway… Judy sent me pictures of the quilts that she made and will be giving to her family this year.  They are now wrapped and under her Christmas tree…waiting…but because YOU are special and can keep secrets…YOU get to peek inside!

The first quilt is called Christmas Ribbons and it’s from  Scrap-Basket Surprises by Kim Brackett.  Very pretty…and very different!

   Linda's xmas

The block almost looks like rotating chisels…VERY effective…and very scrappy!  I love it!

Her friend, Cathy did a GORGEOUS job at FMQ!!  Can you see the poinsettia in the stitching design?!

Here’s Slim the Snowman!!  I recognized him right away…the pattern is from the Primitive Quilts Magazine (the 2012 Winter issue page 42)!  Yes..he is on MY bucket list!  DANG sweet!!

This last beauty is called ‘Blooms in the Cabin’, from Country-Fresh Quilts by Deanne Eisenman…wonderful…and just look at those Civil War Fabrics!! (Swoon….) I predict a trip to Temecula Quilt Shop to help replenish Judy’s Civil War stash…after all, what are friends for?! :o)))

Joe and Kim;s

And Cathy, once again, out did herself in the quilting department!!  What a friend!

As you can see Judy has been one busy quilter!!  Hope you enjoyed the PEEK as much as I did!!

Safe travels, Judy…I will be awaiting your email… informing me that you arrived at THE SANDS safely and for a full up-date on the road conditions!   We will be leaving a few days after you…but taking FIVE days to do what you do in TWO!  You will have to whip those Clubhouse Quilters out of their rowdy ways…get them back into quilting mode!  :o)

Have a (dare I say it…) SUNNY Sunday and Happy Quilting!  Two more sleeps until the big fat man, in the red suit, comes down the chimney!  Oh, I’m ready…bring him on…!

PS….Check out Scrap, Quilt and Stitch Blog for ANOTHER FREE pattern…correction ANOTHER DANG CUTE FREE Pattern….

  2. Seattle Judy has been busy. Every year when you start talking about heading South I get a little jealous of all that warmth and sun while I sit here in 20 degree weather dreading the drive to work in the snow. Have a Merry Christmas and drive safely South.
