On Friday my Fat Quarter Shop order arrived!! Hurray!! I took advantage of their Black Friday Sale and ordered fabric to make Midnight Harvest! Love that quilt by Primitive Gathering!
Gorgeous fabric…but what’s with the MADE in JAPAN stamp on the Moda Fabric?
The plan for Saturday was baking…shortbread, butter tarts, fudge, almond butter cake, lime sugar cookies…but did it get done? NOPE…I had hauled out my orange wool…just to see if it matched the same orange in the fabric…and before I knew what had hit me…I was tracing out the shapes onto Heat N Bond Lite and…
…ironing the shapes onto the wool!
Yup…all 24 pumpkins got traced and ironed onto the wool….
And when I ran out of Heat N Bond…did I stop? Nope…I whipped to the local Quilt Shop for more…I was a quilter POSSESSED!
So did I get any baking done…?
What baking??
Baking is always more fun on a Sunday…right?
Have a Super Satisfying Sunday and Happy Quilting!~ P…Now where did I put my green wool…? These pumpkins NEED stems!!
P.S. Lovely FREE woolie pattern over at Kathy Schmitz’s…and a FREE stitchery pattern for ornaments over at Wendy’s! Just sayin’…I need company with this obsession!! We can be hauled off to the Funny Farm together…
Paulette, I should have ordered that pattern. I have been wanting it for a long time. Does the piecing seem easy?
ReplyDeleteThat is not my best skill
I am still in the christmas mood, think I will work on finishing the angel from the free pattern I got two years ago, lol. Can't wait to see how your new piece comes out.

Oh, I'm excited about your new obsession. I think it's so much fun when we become obsessed and excited about a new project. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteQuilting...baking....I see the problem.....especially during the holidays.....love the fabric....and I love anything almond...here is a great almond gooey cake recipe to die for.....it comes out like a tort....cooking time 25-30 minutes
ReplyDelete3/4 cup butter melted. Serves 6-8
11/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. Almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pinch salt
11/2 cups flour
Mix melted butter & sugar together until well blended
Add eggs one at a time
Add extracts and salt
mix in flour 1/2 cup at a time
Pour into a well greased 8 inch round pan
Sprinkle lightly with sugar and sliced Almonds
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes
The shorter the baking time the goofier the cake
Enjoy and
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAST
P.S. I really like heat and bond the best.....
ReplyDeletethat is too funny, I wonder if you'll get cookies made today?
ReplyDeleteOh, Paulette, ORANGE ! !
ReplyDeleteThere is a three-quarters finished Autumn-inspired wall hanging in my sewing room that truly NEEDS to be completed!!!
Perhaps this is just the boost I need.
Am missing the desert visit as, however, my daughter does have a place in Palm Desert. Perhaps during her next trip down she'll provide a 'fix' with some desert visitation photos for her dear mom. ;-)
Hugs
Oooooh! Great progress on that quilt! I love it too... have the pattern too... ran out of time to make it for this fall. Looking forward to seeing how yours stitches up! Fabric and wool is so much less calories than baking! Stay thin and stitch on!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, the baking can wait until today and by the way need the recipe for lime sugar cookie-is it on the internet? Have fun baking or stitching!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric. As to the made in Japan stamp on the Moda fabric, I understand many fabric manufacturers have certain lines that are made in Japan. And, Japan also has the #1 reputation for getting metallic on top of fabric.

Been there done that, lol!!! Looking good!
ReplyDeleteWhen do we leave and can we take 'all' our stuff along??? Maybe no one will bother us in those rubber rooms, just think how much we can get done!
ReplyDeleteIt's fine. I think you'll have a lot of company in the funny farm. Love the quilt & all your fabrics you bought. lyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteYou know I love that quilt, right, Paulette?? :-) I cannot wait to watch your progress!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat colors! Nothing quite like being in the mood to work on one project and nothing else.:)
