UFO Busting…

Yahoo…another one bites the dust!!  Finishing off this UFO feels mighty good…it’s been like an albatross around my neck…

This one is an oldie…going back FIVE years!!  Every time I opened the cupboard door it was SCREAMING to get finished…but I always pushed it back in…and quickly closed the door!!

These little hand embroidered reindeer were a traveling project way back when we first started this Snowbirding gig!

And then they sat and sat in a tote with the fabric…

I still love the Lynette Anderson’s whimsical reindeer fabric called Magical Christmas… with a few other prints tossed in…

The hand appliqued reindeer is finished…and the whole top is now ready for quilting…which will get done on the mid-arm when I get home!!  Oh..YES IT WILL!!

I changed the pattern up a wee bit…all of the stars have embroidered reindeers…and all the square blocks finish at 4”.

P1260199P1260200I’m sure if you dig you can find a FREE copy of this pattern  on the internet!  I found mine in Henry Glass’s Free Pattern section….mind you that was five years ago!!

  8. UFO busting is the best!!
    Here are my object/project categories:
UFO--Unfinished Object is started and put away or still pinned on the design wall for years. Yes, years. Anything less than years is an IP.
IP--In Progress is one we are working on now or in spurts. We don't want these to become UFOs!
UQ is an IP or UFO that got to the 'needs to be quilted' stage. We need to just get these done so that they can be enjoyed.
UB--Unbound. Why would we do this?
USO--My biggest category, USO is not part of The Stash; a USO or Unstarted Object/project has a pattern and fabrics put together, but no cutting or sewing. A USO can become an IP,UQ, or UB, but should never become a UFO!
And we can't forget the SNinMorB category. Maybe we have more of these than USOs? Sticky Notes in Magazines or Books?

Keep up the good work! Glad you brought those UFOs with you so you can build your UQs!

  10. Congratulations, Paulette! Between the stars and all the snowflakes in the fabrics, this quilt has a wonderful sparkle to it. Great job!
