Yippeee! The hand appliqued orange peels are done! I was amazed when I stopped to count blocks! I needed a square topper...not too big, not too small...just right! Twenty Five blocks seem to be the magical number! Just shows you that, here a stitch, there a stitch, things DO get done!
This has been my handwork project to work on while at Heritage for over a year.(or more). I kept it in my 'Heritage Bag', ready to grab and go! I have to say that it was nice not having to think about what to take to work on....
Now to complete this quilt top! I have to come up with an idea on how to set these blocks..sashing? cornerstones?...and what about the borders? Time to pull a few books and magazines and get some ideas...(Don't you love the process of it all!!!)
Eeny-meeny-miny-moe...stay tuned...
Have a magical Monday and Happy Stitching!~P
Gorgeous Paulette!!! A labor of love!

ReplyDeleteHowever will you choose the next Heritage project, with so many options?
Looks lovely! I'm anxious to see the finished topper. Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteMy pick for you: clam shells!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I would just sew them together no sashing
ReplyDeleteLove the scrappiness of your backgrounds and reds. I'm sure you will figure out a perfect setting for them. Enjoy the finish!
ReplyDeleteI love this topper just the way it is. Or would you consider putting a small cream scalloped border on it? Any way you do it, it's going to be fabulous.
