The pattern is called "Log Cabin Christmas" by Cheri Payne and is dang sweet! Seriously, how can you go wrong when you start with the smallest of log cabins and then radiate those logs out! Below is Cheri's pattern cover...sweet isn't it!! And LOOK at the angel pillow! That is definitely on my TO DO LIST too! (Just in case you want to add it to your list, you can find the pattern HERE!:o)
And here is my tweaked version...simple little tweaks...like changing the holly leaves to regular leaves... and because this will be set inside an old window frame and not a table mat, I turned the top branch right side up. Done! Easy peasy! And I love it!
I have ironed it all in place (with wee dabs of glue where needed) and now comes the fun part...the stitching!
I have also tweaked the name of this quilt...it's gone from 'Log Cabin Christmas' to 'Log Cabin Fever'...only because we've had a couple of days of torrential downpour. I'm hoping for one more rainy day!! :o)) Let the good times roll...
Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Stitching!~P
This is a great idea, Paulette! The log cabin block in the window frame gives a deep sense of perspective, too, which I think is unexpected and totally fun! Happy stitching. :D
ReplyDeleteLove your Log Cabin and I hope the rain eases off because I'm spending all of March in your area!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood tweaking!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Wonderful! That's an adorable project and I love that old window!
ReplyDeleteI love your tweaked version. I just got this pattern and it is on the list of projects to work on. You can't go wrong with a Cheri pattern. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYou made this pattern absolutely perfect for displaying year long in your home Paulette! Simply creative and so well done!
ReplyDeleteNice tweak! I love the big log cabin. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks great Paulette and I'd sooner go the tweaking route than the "other". Question, do you place the whole pattern out rather than add it piece by piece...is there no fraying of the wool?
ReplyDeleteLove how you adapted the pattern to fit the frame Paulette. I think you got your wish for a rainy stitching day. Enjoy it!
ReplyDelete....the sun wil come out tomorrow...to quote Annie!...
A great finish.
ReplyDeleteI love your version and love how you framed it.
