With the Christmas tree down and the decorations put away...it meant that the bowl needed to GO too! BUT wait! What if I just removed the 'Christmas Pillows' and the Christmas ornaments and just kept the Winter stuff?...Would my bowl look empty?
So I culled the herd...all of the Christmas items got pulled and put into a ziploc bag for next Christmas...
Into a ziploc bag for you....see you next Christmas!.:o( |
Everything that could pass for 'Winter' remained in the bowl...Hey, not bad! I will keep my eye open for Winter 'do-dads' that can fill the 'holes'....maybe a couple of pinecones, snowflakes...a bird...a handful of snow....:o)
And with this happening outside this morning, it looks like Winter is really here! But someday this white stuff is going to melt and those Winter Pansies that I planted last Fall are going to bloom...and the daffodils and tulips will be up...
And my Pillow Bowl has GOT to be prepared! You guessed it...SPRING is coming and when that happens, my Bowl will be empty!
So...I turned to Kathy Cardiff and her daughter, Taylor Olvera for help! They have TWO Pin Pal Books out..and they are PERFECT! (You can find these books HERE!!)
See the stickies sticking out of the books...potential projects to do for my SPRING Pillow Bowl!
I say bring on that snow...because when the big thaw comes I am going to BE PREPARED!! Just LOOK at my Spring Flowers...and then next up is that sweet bunny with the pussy willows!
I wonder how many Spring Pillows I can make in SEVENTY FOUR days because Spring apparently is NOT just around the corner?! It's a good thing I like snow...and have lots of wool...:o)
Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Stitching!~P
Oh what a great idea! I love your bowl of goodies and what a great way to while away the hours until the tulips come!
ReplyDeleteWe had snow yesterday and rain today, would love some more of the white stuff.
ReplyDeleteLove that you've made your basket more winter themed. That bunny is cute!
January always seems like such a long month. It's good to have spring time projects to keep those snowflakes to a minimum.
ReplyDeleteWell, if anyone can do it you can! It's not spring yet.
ReplyDeleteI always keep winter things out, and then I mix snowmen and things like that with my valentines. Making hearts today, something quick and fun to put on my all year tree.

Love your "winter bowl" - once the Christmas things are put away, the house feels kind of empty and naked...you have given me a renewed approach. We are headed for the deep freeze in a few days so it is a good time to putter in the house. And dream of Spring yet to come.
ReplyDeleteYour winter bowl is a great idea. You have me in the mood for making a spring bowl. Living in southern Ca. I'm definitely not wishing for spring. We just had our first 'el nino' storm and I'm loving it. Also, spring could mean temps back in the 80's or near 90. Hope you have a lovely week. Patty Mc
ReplyDeletewhat a good idea, I have a bowl with little pin cushions etc in but would be nice to be able ring the changes like you
ReplyDeleteAren't you lucky to have a hobby you absolutely love which keeps you busy when the weather is frightful! When we were home in Montana for the holidays I was busy in the quilting studio, cut out, pieced and machine quilted a little lap quilt. The cowboy on the other hand stared out the windows and grump-ed about the weather--need to find that man a hobby!
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring! I think I know what I am going to be working on next :o) Love the pretty woolie flowers!!
ReplyDeleteLove the basket, and little pillows AND 'think spring' flowers
ReplyDeleteI think the Christmas bowl was just sooooo beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do for spring. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I am in!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm on and off with blog reading, but yours is one that I always try to catch up on. However, I guess I have missed why you aren't heading south this year. I have always enjoyed your adventures in southern California. Happy winter.
ReplyDeleteI have to find a wood bowl like that. I am so jealous!
