Renee, my new Clubhouse friend and fellow quilter, arrived home to Boise, Idaho a couple of weeks ago (her hubby still works). Imagine her surprise when she opened my blog to read about my Orange Peel blocks…
…because look at what she was working on at the exact same time!!
No, we did not discuss Orange Peels in any shape, way or form!! Crazy…eh?!
So Renee’s question is, should she sew them onto dark beige (left) or the light beige fabric( right)? I vote for the left! What do you think? Either way this quilt is going to be a stunner!
Yup, we are two P’s in a Pod…! I really like her scrappy mix of colour…I may have to rethink my quilt…or maybe just make two quilts…a red and beige one and a scrappy mix!
Food for thought…think I’ll peel an orange! I bet Renee is peeling one too!
Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Stitching!~P
I would say left one too! That is really fun that you were making them at the same time. I am going to see my Great Grand Daughter this evening. So excited! Haven't seen her since Christmas. You have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI say both backgrounds.. Make scrappy as well!
ReplyDeleteYou two have psychic abilities!
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly true that great minds think alike. I like the left one too, but don't change yours - I love the scrappy backgrounds with the reds. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI like the one on the right it makes the colors show up brighter....yours is really nice with the different background....
ReplyDeleteToo funny. You two are definitely two peas in a pod. Enjoy time together.
ReplyDeleteTo me, either backgrounds work, but I lean towards the darker too!

I vote for the left, too. But please don't change your quilt, it's going to be fabulous. I love the red.
ReplyDeleteI say left, and not just because I'm a southpaw. Both of these quilts are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like the left too, seems like less variation on the background so it doesn't overpower the design.

I would like to see one phitograph with both backgrounds side by side each with a few of the Orange Peel fabrics on it. From personal experience I know that the fabrics can change colour from one picture to the next.
ReplyDeleteGiven that I would consider making four patches of the two fabrics if they okay nice together,
You two must have just giggled out loud when you discovered your mutual like of orange peels. To funny. Based on the photo of Renee's peels, I'd vote for the darker left one.
ReplyDeleteYou know I am loving this!!!
ReplyDeleteWell that's fun! 😃
ReplyDeleteLoving your red and beige orange peels. I just won a lovely table runner pattern from Norma Whaley and it has orange peels! Nuts be all the rage.
ReplyDeleteYour orange peels are wonderful.:) It's a popular pattern right now!
ReplyDeleteHow funny. I think the lighter background makes the colours seem more intense somehow. I love your red version too.
ReplyDeleteYou can add my vote to the left side too! I love orange peel blocks!
ReplyDeleteI hope I am at the right place to post a comment for the book giveaway. I've been lost. Tell me if I am found and at the right place. Thank you all! Crazy old lady, Patricia at peache1@gmail.com
