On The Road Again….

NoteWhere’s Willie when you need him?Note

Yesterday was a long haul…over eight hours of driving before we arrived at the Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield, CA.

This is the skyline of Sacramento…home to Gran and Kim…I gave them both a shout out and a wave as we sailed by…

Look at that blue sky…and SUNSHINE!!  Good thing I dressed in layers…because by the time we stopped for the day the temperature was 25C!  (Geeze…I am going to have to get with the program…I need to think Fahrenheit now!  Fahrenheit and YARDS…not metres!!  That’s a dead give away that you are a Snow Bird..when you ask for metres instead of yards!!)

So last night we stayed nestled in amongst the orange trees…but alas…the oranges were all green!

Last time we were here in January and the oranges were orange and juicy…the park gives you orange pickers and you can pick as many as you want! Not so this time…Sad smile

But that’s OK…my friend Sandy and her husband, Garry are coming through in January and I have already sent her specific instructions…

I would like THIS one right here!

Did I mention that there are about a thousand orange trees?  I think Sandy is up to the challenge…don’t you?

I’ll keep you posted!!

So today we are off to Desert Hot Springs!!

WHAT!!??  You mean we are almost there already??  It’s surprising how fast a trip can go when you stitch and listen to Audio books…I can’t wait to get back on the road…I’m at an exciting part!!  Sure hope I finish the book by the time I get to The Sands or I will have to sit in the truck until it’s done!!

Have a Thrilling Thursday and Happy Quilting!~P

Quilt’n Thyme…

We were on a mission to find a Safeway in Corning when, much to Mr. Sweet P’s dismay, look what I spotted..EUREKA!!  Quilt’n Thyme!! Yippee…finally a QS sighting!P1150997

When I asked the two gents who were working in the shop if I could take pictures they both said SURE and then started to run for cover~ you can see them scurrying at the left…P1150998

And the lady who was shopping dropped behind this bank of fabric bolts!   I couldn’t have got a better reaction had I brought our a semi automatic!!  So shoot I did…with my camera!

Someone has a pig fetish…there was this display plus another one further along the window!  I’ve always said you can never have enough pigs!

I have been craving garlic bread, crab with garlic butter and Caesar salad with garlic…ever since!

Thanks for all your lovely comments…I appreciate and enjoy hearing from you but haven’t been able to get back to you!!  Our Wi-Fi isn’t that great…and is verrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy slllloooooowwwww…and painful!!It will be better once we get to The Sands! Open-mouthed smile

Travelling Along…

Once the fog and mist dissipated, it turned into a gorgeous Autumn day…perfect for travelling!  The only OTHER thing to make it even more perfect would have been a Quilt Shop spotting…but alas…it was not meant to be!

I did do a little Autumn stitching though..Block One of the Heart to Hand Autumn quilt is done…although it needs a good pressing…

P1150995

And I got a good section of Block Two done…the camera flash has washed out the colours..it is way more vibrant than this but you get the idea.P1150994
