What an honour it is to share some AccuQuilt GO! love with you! Let’s get right at it..for my project I chose to GO! for the Red and White…borrowed the Winding Way die from a friend…and started cranking!
This is what I made~
Now before I started sewing this quilt, the first thing I did was Google ‘videos on sewing curved seams’…there are tons of videos out there and I watch them ALL!! I did not use one pin while stitching these curved blocks thanks to those videos and the accurate cutting of the AccuQuilt GO! Now I am not saying my blocks are perfect but FOR ME THEY ARE AS PERFECT AS THEY ARE GOING TO GET!!… AND I LOVE this quilt!! Thanks to the videos this quilt went together very quickly and was not difficult! If I can do it, YOU can do it!! For this reason, I am not going to go into detail about how to join the blocks…just…watch the videos!
For the border, I used the 1 1/2” strip cutter…cut out tons of red and white strips…
Sewed them together in rows…
and then laid them across the 1 1/2” strip cutter going the other way…
Within minutes I had millions of little squares all ready to GO! Doing this the ‘old fashion way’ using a rotary cutter would have taken hours!! Love the GO!
Before I knew what hit me…this quilt was together and ready for quilting!! First I machine stitched in the the ditch to hold the quilt together…
..then using Valdani Perle Cotton and a big eyed needle…
I marked the quilt using a Mark-B-Gone pen and big stitched quilted each flower and the borders…
I find using a hoop or a quilting frame works best for me…
Done!
And here she is finished and taking in a few rays around the pool!
My only wish was that I had made her bigger…much bigger…but I am happy with what I GO!T!
Now LET’S talk GIVE AWAY!!! Here’s the prize up for GRABS! It’s the Fun Flower Die…
Rules for the Give Away? Let’s keep it simple!! Leave a comment! If you are a follower of this blog then leave ANOTHER comment saying that you follow and you will get a SECOND chance to win. ReplyDeleteI am getting ready to piece my quilt and start quilting and wondering, do you pin your quilt if you are using a hoop? I hate pinning and thinking of using iron on batting, so that would help, but wondering if a hoop might make it easier. I do have a large one.
